From 2005-2010, almost 3,800 people in the U.S. died from unintentional shootings.ii More than a third of the victims were under 25 years of age.
"^That is way more than everyone killed by terrorists in the entire western world in the last five years. If this was a disease, they'd run around trying to cure it."
More people die in exponential numbers in car accidents, and almost all cars can go 50-60 mph over the highest speed limit. More people die of obesity each year and fast food is still allowed to keep pumping out artery clogging food. Americans have shown guns are a luxury they enjoy and they're willing to tolerate the deaths from it, just like fast cars and fat food
People at least know that driving recklessly and eating fast food is bad, they are being told that. About guns though, it is complete unnacceptance of the fact. Retards are convinced guns are GOOD for them.
Vices and fast food kill you in time, guns can kill others instantly. As far as car accidents go, there are measures taken by LAW to prevent them that refer to speeding, driving recklessly, under the influence, etc. If you are caught doing that, you get punished.
Also, the fact that "people" (particularly stupid americans, but it goes to most people tbh) want smth that is bad for them does not mean the government should give it to them. This is not about democracy. Most people would want to fuck underage people if they were allowed. Most people would want to do drugs if they could. Most people would want to steal and even kill, or not pay their taxes. You can't fucking give these to them. It's the government's responsibility to work for the best of the dumb masses by making laws that are for their own good, even if they don't agree with them.
