Wow... this Clayface doesn't even have a history in acting clearly. The original was a scary shapeshifter from being able to both assume the guise of another person with scary levels of believability and he could shapeshift his vocal cords to sound like the target in question. This guy might as well just be wearing Gordon's face like a Halloween mask with how hard he's hamming it up with no knowledge of the subject he's imitating.

This series would have been perfect for his power set. The show's alright, but this is disappointing.

They flesh out some characters beautifully (eg Penguin and Riddler  <3) and leave others bland and boring.

They are probably planning to kill him off and then resurrect him with the doctor's loving touch.

^ Note the similarities to Spatial Mind :D

Galavan started out as just another boring guy with a grudge, too.

Personalities according to WIKI GOTHAM.

JIM

Jim is the opposite of his colleagues in Gotham City being one of the few citizens with a position of power, though non-corrupt. Jim has a strong moral compass to do what is right, this being the driving force behind several of his action such as sparing Oswald Cobblepot's life, promising Bruce Wayne to find his parent's murderer, and his dedication to rid Gotham of crime and corruption.

Jim does not, however, always act in his own best interests, his passion for justice taking him out on a limb. He struggles often to understand others' perspectives, having such a black-and-white worldview himself. He also has the obsessive focus on justice which is a later hallmark of the Batman, since he manages to sit opposite Leslie Thompkins in a restaurant while she's wearing a beautiful and rather low-cut dress and think about nothing but the case.

HARVEY

Harvey is a hardened enforcer of justice. Jaded by his time and experiences in Gotham, he knows that justice in a place like that isn't always ethical; as such, he has no qualms doing the morally gray. But he wasn't always like that. In fact when Harvey's former partner Dix told Jim what Harvey was like when he was working with him, Jim could barely believe what he was being told. Nonetheless, he is loyal and dedicated, and even willing on occasion to put his life on the line for others.

ALFRED

Alfred is generally polite and respectful, although there are multiple instances where his military background causes him to lash out and lose his temper. He has admitted that he is unsure about how to raise Bruce following the death of the latter's parents.[2] However, he is genuinely concerned for Bruce's well-being and is loyal to his young charge above anything else. He is an unwavering ally and an implacable foe.

SELINA

Selina is intelligent, calm, level-headed, light-hearted, cheerful, carefree, laid back, slightly brazen, and occasionally kind and caring. Although she can sometimes be selfish, Selina is shown to have a sense of honor, loyalty, and is capable of being selfless. She is, of necessity, far more pragmatic than Bruce, but wants him to understand her reasons whenever possible, such as when she kills Reggie Payne to ensure that they survive. She is shown to be a little possessive of Bruce, as she made several attempts to keep Silver St Cloud away from him.

BRUCE

After the death of his parents, Bruce began to show erratic behavior, such as self-harm[6], listening to heavy metal, drawing disturbing artwork, refusing to eat and overall behaving recklessly, doing things such as climbing on top of the roof of the Wayne Mansion and burning himself. He is very serious, though also kind, caring, selfless, observant and intelligent. He can sometimes be naive, but despite this, he can easily tell when someone is lying to him or when they are not telling him the entire truth. He loved both of his parents very much, and becomes angry if anyone speaks ill of them, such as Tommy Elliot, who he physically assaulted after the latter taunted him about his parents' deaths, and disrespected his mother.[12] Harboring leftover guilt from not doing anything when his parents were murdered, Bruce devoted all of his time and efforts towards finding clues that could be used to discover the identity of the man who killed his parents. Bruce has a strong moral compass to do what is right, showing a huge reprehension against the act of killing, calling the Balloonman a criminal because he did so[7], and berating Selina Kyle for killing Reggie, and telling her that he'd never cross that line.[21]

OSWALD

At first glance Cobblepot appears to be milquetoast, subservient, and somewhat of a sycophant. In reality he is an ambitious and cunning sociopath who is willing to do whatever it takes to obtain power. Despite this hunger, Cobblepot is patient and uses his high intellect to concoct plans in order to reach his goals. Virtually every move he makes is premeditated to a certain degree. Even when things don't go exactly as planned, Cobblepot is highly adept at playing the hand he is dealt for the best. Among the more darker parts of Cobblepot's personality is his tendency for violence. He is more than willing to kill someone when he feels it's necessary and does so without pity or remorse. He speaks with a constant smile, often talking fast and shaky, with variant levels of flattery to whom he speaks to, often sarcastically.

Despite his malice and ruthlessness, he has a softer side and a degree of humanity when it comes to his mother whom he loves deeply and devotedly. When his mother got killed, it devastated him deeply and when Edward said that his mother was Oswald weakness, Oswald almost slit Edward's throat saying how his mother was the only person who truly cares and loves him.

At first, calling him Penguin made him very infuriated, to the point of murderous intents, but later, he decided to accept and adopt the epithet, admitting that it "grew on him". With the current outfit, name and mannerism, he is becoming closer to his original concept in the comic books.

The rapidity and precision of his Biblical references when he was picked up outside Gotham by the church group suggest that Christianity played a role in his upbringing. His facial expressions declare that, like the spoiled only child he seems to be, Oswald is always picked on by others and the universe, rather than ever being at fault himself.

BARBARA

Barbara initially is kind, caring, selfless, and has a moral compass. She risked her own life to save Jim, by going to Carmine Falcone and pleading for Jim's life. She has an addictive personality, as she is shown to have been addicted to alcohol and drugs in the past. She ended her relationship with Jim Gordon, because she did not feel that he included her in his life; and he did not provide emotional support for her after she was held captive by Carmine, as well as the fact that she is afraid of being around the dangers that Jim brings as a police detective. Upon leaving she resumes a relationship with Renee Montoya, who breaks up with her because Barbara has relapsed into abusing drugs. She goes to see Jim at the police precinct, but finds him kissing Leslie, and flees.

After she was forced to kill her parents by Jason Skolimski, aka the Ogre, (off-screen) Barbara had a psychotic break. She tells Leslie that she killed her own parents, attacks Leslie and tried to kill her with a knife - presumably because Leslie is now Jim's girlfriend.

Though she claimed she was sane after being released from Arkham, she seemed to suffer another psychotic break after Jim rejected her.

EDWARD

Edward is intelligent, calculating, kind, and caring. His meticulous and observant nature makes him an excellent forensic scientist, often detecting clues and connections his superiors miss. However he is also narcissistic, being infatuated by his intelligence and enjoys telling riddles to prove this, much to the annoyance of most of his co-workers. He can also be awkward, unintentionally insulting, and selfish, like getting the previous medical examiner fired as revenge for getting him suspended by making it look like he was stealing body parts.

He has romantic feelings for Kristin Kringle; when he discovered that her boyfriend, Tom Dougherty, was physically abusing her he threatened Tom to stay away from Kristin. However, when Tom attacked him he killed Tom in self-defense. Though he felt guilt and remorse for this he covered up the murder to avoid arrest and stay with Kristin. He is compelled to leave a riddle in the letter he wrote to Kristin to cover up Tom's death, but becomes angry with himself for leaving such an easy clue and suffers a further mental breakdown.

Killing Dougherty was the catalyst for a major change in Ed's behavior. The trauma of committing his first murder was enough to cause Ed to develop a split personality, one that's crazier and more aggressive. These two personalities merge in the second season, as a result, Ed is more impulsive, paranoid and prone to anger, and he now sees certain people as obstacles in his path that should be removed, such as the hunter he killed so that he wouldn't find Kristin's body, and even Jim, his friend, when Jim started getting on Ed's case about Kristin's whereabouts. He later justifies his change in behavior to Gordon, claiming this is who he is, and that all it took, besides killing people, was admitting it to himself.

He enjoys playing video games, saying that each one provides a new challenge and that it is similar to detective work.

LESLIE

Leslie is intelligent, kind, caring, selfless, has a moral compass, and is unafraid of being around the dangers thatJim Gordon brings as a police detective.

HARVEY DENT

"Do not threaten me!... I will rip you apart!!.......it's good to see you, Dick."
—Harvey to Dick Lovecraft[src]

For the most part, Dent comes off as friendly, principled and passionate about bringing justice to Gotham. However, as his meeting with Dick Lovecraft shows, he has a much darker side within him, one that has an immutable hatred of criminals, at least the thoroughly corrupt, such as Lovecraft. When this side comes out, he becomes aggressive, almost to the point of physical violence. [2]

NATHANIEL

Nathaniel takes a job as a police captain very seriously, unlike most members of the Gotham City Police Department, he is non-corrupt, Nathaniel has no toleration for any crooked cop in the GCPD. It has been shown that he will arrest them without hesitation.

Nathaniel can be very stubborn and abides by the law toughly. He does not believe any suspect is innocent or guilty until official evidence has been given.

TABITHA

Tabitha shows numerous traits of a sadist, as well as those of a sociopath, and relishes pushing people's buttons, almost regardless of the danger. She seems less calculating than her brother, and more prone to act on impulse. She is shown to be flirtatious with anyone she finds attractive but can also develop an emotional attraction to others, which was demonstrated when she sent assassins to kill James Gordon for putting Barbara Kean in a coma, and when she defend Silver St. Cloud from Theo Galavan.

Tabitha has a low tolerance for those who threaten her with violence, as she impulsively attacked Alfred Pennyworth after he interrogated her about the whereabouts of Bruce Wayne, and she left Theo Galavan to die after he threatened her and Silver St. Cloud.

Despite betraying Theo, she still seemed to care for him and was angry at Oswald Cobblepot for "killing" him. When Theo returned from the dead as Azrael, she attempted to get through to him, and even reminisced about their childhood before the monks took him away.

I agree.  I used to really love Clayface.  It was nice to see they decided to use the character, but not like this.
