Thing is, what you think to be spam, might not be to others. The usability of the site is not affected. You can use the search function to look for the thread you need. Its still usable. You can mute and ignore those whose threads or posts or replies annoy you and the site is still usable.
The site isn't crashing, its still usable.

New thread spamming buries other useful threads and affects the usability of the site. They should be deleted, just like they used to be. I don't see why this chain-posting conversation would change that.

I get it, the P vs J thing, right? Don't worry Turn, it's only a difference of approach when it comes to moderation. We want the same thing, the core of SC, and when those things are really affected we stand together. After all it's the common things we like that keep making us come back.

Idk, WW3 was saying that TC deleted some posts of his, if TC deletes those threads that WW3 made I feel like he'd be doing it out of some personal thing. And I don't really see them as spam, more like WW3 testing if TC is lying or not regarding his "sit back". If TC deletes those threads one could argue he was lying and that he's being biased against WW3
Searching for threads here is shit. You need to remember the thread names, which is hard, or flat out impossible if they are new threads just spammed away on other pages.
Biased against WW? Who else spammed the first page with threads and didn't have them deleted?
Why should anything change after this thread was made? This thread has the topic of applying mod deletion in a specific case (chain posting), and that got rejected. Why would a lift on all spam be installed now?
You see no difference between chain posting a few posts in a thread to bump up an ugly picture, and the front page full of spam? You seem to be incapable of judging each situation on its own. You just crave "all-applicable" laws because it takes less mental effort I suppose.
Edit: It also amazes me how talented this community is to find a small pimple in its ass and keep scratching and gnawing at it until it becomes a huge, bloody, pus-filled ulcer.
What's the point of this discussion? Can't we just have a poll to see how many of us actually want change?
If that turns out to be the majority, we can talk about it, but if most of us want to stick with the old rule we do not have to waste time on discussing.
