I have no knowledge on iboga beyond looking lightly into it now. The wiki mentions that it's used to combat substance addiction, but it's been mostly tested on rats and not so much on people. Hallucinations from something that's not fully understood yet make it sound like an iffy answer, but maybe the illegal treatment facilities will report good findings that spur interest into more human trials. While it can reduce withdrawal symptoms... I don't think that's what will help an emotional addict or an escapist.
As for LSD, it strongly depends on the individual and why they sought alcohol in the first place. While some psychadelics can have the down phase cause some deep thinking, others instead can begin chasing that new high in it's place.
