Being insecure

I do not think its possible to have no insecurities.

Its possible however not to give power to a stranger to access these insecurities.

Or perhaps insecurities are only things strangers can trigger, then its possible not to have any.

If you weren't insecure about it, couldn't you just shrug or laugh it off?

The trigger response shows a fracture. If it can control your behavior, then you aren't the one in control. Values by comparison are more like opinions.

I don't think that analogy for values is equative.  I understand it's semantic, but I don't know how far down the road we want to travel to untangle definitions.  I guess I would liken the power of a value proportionate to the character of an instinct it seems to operate as.

Yeah I agree, but are you saying that only insecurities can make you lose control?

See these are two that I constantly get wrong, I feel like insecurity has the stigma of weakness to it, because a secure person radiates the strength that comes with confidence. You can be secure in yourself but still in a vulnerable state.

I don't necessarily see any stigma attached to being vulnerable in general. In certain situations if you assess it logically, vulnerability cannot be avoided & can even be strategic.

Insecurity is the opposite, it's a defect in your view of yourself.
