i see why people think this way, but it's an unhealthy outlook to have.
it's a self fulfilling prophecy to presume to know things you can't possibly be sure of and view life as 'predictable math'. when you have that kinda attitude, you remember more clearly the times this idea was reinforced and you also reinforce it with your own behavior. often times, if you go into a situation combative, it will become this way and the same goes for other things as well. factors like body language and reading into things that fit your 'math' will help it along.
it may be 'less true' because it then becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. let's take a really cringey rom-com type scenario. say i have been hurt so bad by men that i assume they're all the same. this assumption makes it more likely that my next guy will be 'the same' therefore making it 'more true' but avoidable. that kind of thinking is flawed as well as unhealthy.
Do you think she was responding to:
Soo, if you want your child to be happy and normal, you shouldn't be a parent? What?
but..she didn't even imply that. although what she was basing her comment on was also never implied.

i see why people think this way, but it's an unhealthy outlook to have.
I assume it's the latter, but just to be sure. If so, is it really a self fulfilling prophecy to try to measure and understand stuff?
I assume you are referring the sexual dysfunction that we discussed some time ago. I appreciate your discretion, but there's no need. The disorder is most likely physical, not psychological. Which is exactly what I told you at the time. : P
Are you suggesting that denial of the "uncertainty principle", is the cause of my sexual dysfunction? XD
Well at least you're aware that it's just a feeling. : P
It was a feeling when I wrote that post, but then I remembered something you said about not enjoying certain experiences that made it more than a feeling, and you know it.
"The whole universe isn't just predictable math"
What Levi said.
I admit I am not the most intellectual person around and I might be wrong, but stuff like "uncertainty principle" and the debate about chaos being part of the universe have reached even my ears...
