I see where you're coming from with that. I've never wanted to cut myself, but if I did I wouldn't give a fuck about any outside opinions. I'd be disappointed in anyone that told me that.

i do kind of agree, but i think it's also helpful to encourage her to do it somewhere she can cover it up. like my mom advising to smash cheap things when i was mad rather than the TV or oven. it wasn't that she didn't give a fuck about why i was getting so angry, more that she was trying to look at the positive and make things easier in the long run. (and her bank balance)
