Why not split the forum into two parts, a general forum and a spam sub-forum? Let a moderator regularly prune the general forum of unwanted threads and posts. This forum obviously needs moderation. If people don't like what the moderator's doing we'll just elect someone else.

The chat would improve with a group chat function (especially if the chat windows/tabs didn't reset after a while).

 Agree with Turn, the forum is too small, and no spammer will stick with the spam section. Our community is split between 2 sections already, kinda. We have the moderated pf/mental health group part and the less moderated SC part... Everyone is free to choose how they spend their time between these places.

Agreed, this hook needs some fresh bait. From my experience, blogs or other sorts of source material with a forum link connected to the place works better than advertising.

Beyond that, there's always trying to convince M.E. to put this place back onto the front page.

Google mobile devices search change. I think now sites adapted for mobile devices have priority on mobile search. This one isn't adapted. And most searches are done with mobile devices...

Trying to convince ME to reunite with the blog is a good idea. If ME could be convinced to separate the two, maybe we can change her mind again.

Forum's never been worse than now imo. It's being ruined by autistic spastic posting of mainly 2 people, Sinister creature and Eduhard. Even now, the chat I see is a "monologue" of Jim talking to Eduhard that goes like

Individual blacklist doesn't work, others keep replying and being dragged to their level. I know good posters who have given up on the forum because of the autists that have taken over, and this will continue to happen unless those who have the power to do something will finally take action. I am amazed how you people can put up with shit for so long. If the admins took it on themselves to mute the two retards on sight instead of giving them chance after chance, the forum would be a much better experience for non shit-posters.

So, how do you really feel then? Is it even about shit posting anymore? Did you change your mind somewhere along the line? So where is the line drawn that divides Sinister from Jim? IQ? How often it's done? The whim of public opinion based on a perceived reputation that grants more rights to one than another? Self control maybe? Personality? Style?

It's also the topics resembling shit posting to try to bring down the "quality" of the place.

So what did you have against Eduhard? Just the chat? That "Ed" was in his name maybe?

It wasn't the geeky computer stuff that made sin SC disease. It was the endless noise and spamming. Single shit threads aren't that bothersome imo, and if we go by the rule of minimum mod intervention, they should be left alone...

He's a manager at Wendy's. Part of the training is learning how to crack a whip the juicy burger way.

So what did you have against Eduhard? Just the chat? That "Ed" was in his name maybe?

 A lot of posts and threads aren't very good quality wise. Sometimes a shit thread can turn into smth funny or interesting, depending on how the conversation stirs. This never happened with Eduhard's threads, they were purposely made disgusting and plain stupid. We had weeks to see what Eduhard really was about, and he just posted dozens of such threads without anything redeeming.

 As opposed to Sinister and Eduhard, Jim has a personality (yeah I believe Eduhard wasn't Jim's puppet). He has moments when he's very funny and I see him better integrated into our community than those two. He can engage into real conversations for starters, smth which can't be said of the others, who just slip into mumbling to themselves about their autistic interests. And yeah, in that conversation between Jim and Eduhard, Jim was definitely the one dragged down.

Everyone here has other posters in mind who they dislike. Eduhard and Sinister though, through their spam, made this place impossible to visit without wasting time going through their shit. It was more a matter of quantity to me, like walking through mud knee deep, vs stepping in/over the occasional puddle. Had they posted the same shit content wise, but a lot less, I wouldn't have minded them.

Alright, so we already know how we feel about Sinister, as it's really not that hard to come to a general consensus there. For a more complicated question...

How does the forum feel about Jim? I'm fairly indifferent since he doesn't seem to strike more than once in a "proving he can do it" fashion, but if we're going to maintain some consistency across what is and isn't the thing to do here, he'll need to be discussed even at the risk of feeding him all that delicious attention.

I've been leaning towards "leaving him be", but I'd like to read what others think. So far we have Ed wanting to keep him (followed with my typical and expected "questioning where the line ought to be drawn" angle as my reply), but there's also these replies:

By dumb or pointless we have all the threads who are made to share one video and things that don't open up for discussion.

Personally, I don't think Jim is a problem, when he sticks to his one account. Jim stirs up people purposefully, but that's part of why people stay around in the first place. Because it's fun to watch people fucking with each other. If the consensus is he is too obnoxious, then ban him. But I think he's fine. That he feels the need to to use puppets to express extremely immature aspects of his personality is very peculiar to me, but whatever.

i disagree with eddie. if the topic was made by an unknown user (lol) i might let it slide, but jim is a known spammer and should be treated as such.

So, thoughts from the rest of you? It seems fairly split so far for opinion (Two "Eh", one "keep him", one "delete them", and two "BAN 'EM", adding up to 3v3 in a rough sense).
