by Venator of VerumI give money to my sister to shop for me. She knows how simplistic in general my taste for clothing is better than I do. I guess that's why she aims for things that last and are hard to break.
Combat boots are a good choice. I personally prefer to use footwear with gore-tex (plus an everyday sprinkle of British Army Foot Powder, as I walk upwards of 15 km on a daily basis).
15 fucking kilometers?? holy shit.

From my home to my workshop and back after I'm done work. It's only an hour of a brisk march each way. And it keeps my body lean and muscular, considering the way I eat, the training regime I undergo on a weekly basis (judo, fencing and dancing) and the fact that I like to drink and smoke.
My daily travel footwear usually lasts for up to 3000 km and that comes at the cost of about $200 (It's still cheaper than buying at wal-mart)
i wear, like, nothing on that list. as a wise man once said, fuck off.
what i DO wear: ripped up skinny jeans, combat boots, lot of black stuff. my hair is really short and spiky. i dont really give a shit about brands, i just get all my stuff from target or whatever.
Both my mother and my father are fashionistas. It rubbed off on my sister, but myself I just don't really care about superficiality. Thus I always dress for comfort and functionality. Utter disregard for brands is my brand, but I do recognize good workmanship, especially with regards to shoes (feet comfort is of utter importance).
Still, that does not mean that I will wear overtly clashing clothing constructs when meeting clients, or do not know how to look dashing when the occasion calls for.
I also eschew any jewellery or ornaments.
My posture and presence speak well enough for myself.
All of the above does not mean that I abhor people for their superficial gusto.
I simply don't really care.
