How do you guys feel about police officers?

I personally do not like police officers. I never have, I never will. I don't care for the respect that they receive in this society because I don't think they deserve it. It is quite irritating I can go to starbucks and the cops in front of me don't pay for their $10 coffees. It's not the coffee, it's just the meaning behind it. Protect, serve, etc. No. This kind of behavior strokes their egos and in turn they think they are Godly figures. I mean really, have you ever questioned a cops power? They don't really like it. At all.

I don't believe in running to the police to solve your problems, or any problem really. I have lived in several different areas, and the cops where I live now I like a lot more than other places I've been - however I still find them to be a burden.

Anyone understand me? lol. I don't believe in public law enforcement. If you want protection, you are welcome to hire someone.

They don't pay for coffee? That's wrong. Everybody else has to pay for coffee. They should pay for theirs too.

Most of the cops up here aren't too awful. There are enough psychos with badges running around that I don't really trust them, but they don't harass me too much.

Being forced to spend money on private bodyguards wouldn't work for me. But I'd be happy to accept some loosening on our weapons laws so I can protect myself.

I do not like the cops and I never will either (though I have family on the force). I've been stopped and frisked and harassed on numerous occasions. I think it's disgusting how there is barely punishment for police officers who break the law. I do not have to repeat the number of occasions in the past 3 years where cops have unlawfully killed people and they walk away with a slap on the wrist. Bunch of abusive assholes.

In my neighborhood no one calls the cops.

They do that to make sure civilians know who is in charge: them.

No. I have never seen a cop pay for coffee, and if I'm not mistaken, I don't think I've ever seen one pay for food in general while in uniform. It is a custom in the states (at least where I'm from) for cops not to pay for their food. It's quite ridiculous.

"It is quite irritating I can go to starbucks and the cops in front of me don't pay for their $10 coffees."

It was probably given to him for free. I know whenever I wore my uniform out in town I got meals payed for by people who didnt even disclose themselves. It's just appreciation. Cops put their lives on the line in big cities, it's a different world when you have to wear a bullet proof vest to work everyday.

"This kind of behavior strokes their egos and in turn they think they are Godly figures. I mean really, have you ever questioned a cops power? They don't really like it. At all."

And they have their fair share of limitations as well, most of which makes their job more complicated. The bigger problem is just a person who let power go to their heads, but these people exist in all walks of life in higher and lower positions than you.

"I don't believe in running to the police to solve your problems, or any problem really."

Yeah me too.

"Anyone understand me? lol. I don't believe in public law enforcement. If you want protection, you are welcome to hire someone."

That concept exists already in its most prevalent form of gangs/mobs extorting stores in bad areas with the promise of protection when they themselves are the ones who rob them. You'd just be paying an extra tax to not be mugged and you wouldnt have the freedom to stop the bills from piling up.

I really cant stand the whole "fuck the police" stance on things. If you got rid of local law enforcement the rules wouldn't simply disappear, it'd just create a power gap that would be filled by a more unforgiving force of people. It's a necessity, you're better with them than without them.

Cops are people doing their job just like you do yours.

I've got 3 friends that went into law enforcement after the service and from what I hear they get more bullshit on their end then the civilians they arrest get. If a police officer makes you go through extra steps or seems to be assuming something during your interactions with them know they are loathing it as much as you are.

Disgusting pigs pfft.

I hate when they come up to me like : "Where you heading to miss?"

I'm like "Jail nigga, if you stopping me"

LOL. NYC officers have the worst attitudes. The officer did not appreciate my sass.
