"No need to remove the first post in a thread (and thus the thread), just delete its contents."
Won't be a thing until Forum 2.0 I'm afraid.
I literally just have a button that says "Delete Post". Editing and locking out the user's ability to edit it back would make it far easier.
No thanks. I'm not invested enough to bother- and I certainly wouldn't pay anything to maintain it. I just come here to play. I can adapt to anything... In my own fashion. For a time, that meant driving Luna batshit. I'm not adverse to doing so again if she gives me reason to. :D
No... It's not a fight club.... According to Luna's "vision", we're supposed to be a supportive community of friendly neighborhood psychopaths, remember? To hell with what we want, she owns this place, and we'll damn well eat what she serves us. But hey! At least her bans are easy to circumvent. :P
You're always welcome to make a place more like the old one, but chances are it'll lack a chat feature and it'll cost money to maintain. Hosting on a site that lets you make your own forums using their code means you're stuck following their rules, so it'd likely need to be it's own web address.
The Nabble forum still exists, and can be brought back if someone cared enough to fund it. Personally, while I love that place, it's not something I see myself paying money for.
"i guess u never saw this place in ukans time what we got here is pretty tame in comparison"
I only witnessed some of it, as I stopped lurking and signed up the day Luna posted about nuking the moon. I saw enough of the old forum to know this place is only a reflection of it. A lot of shows aren't as good in the later seasons, but that didn't always stop me from watching to see if things improved, plus the chat dynamic is somewhat magnetic. The trick in this case though is that the forum itself is the way to have a chance at changing anything. Other than those three buttons, I'm not any different than before.
If you want to rally people into making things more like they used to be, start a topic about it. It likely won't go anywhere, but who knows? It's not like I don't agree with the old ways myself.
"some body posting a thousand pics of their dic in a row wuld not have been "spam" it wuld have been just another days craziness and the roasting too was pretty fucking amplified compared to the zoo we have now"
Back then there wasn't this notion of an image to maintain either, that's what let it be so free.
"back then i used to think this as a sort of mental fight club with no rules"
It's not that anymore. It wasn't that long ago we were going on about this place's "one" rule, now it's "two" rules. It's likely downhill from here as the users here become more creative, but I've stayed too long to not watch how it all ends.
"it still is a little bit but its gotten tamer trust me we dont need no rules here"
Tell Luna that then, it's not up to me.
