I never kill spiders. They are fascinating, useful and formidable little predators. But I'll kill anything with six legs that scuttles too fast for my liking instantaneously, lol.
That's the thing. They project humanity on animals. I do believe that all living beings are equally important in this world, yet, it is ultimately a choice. Whether you choose to save a stag beetle from being crushed instead of a baby human. Not because you choose one over the other will make you any more or less of a human being. Although, one does have the job of protecting their own kind.
by HayasaI guess alpha people call it cowardice because they see animals as "contenders", so, the smaller the animal, the weaker an opponent it is. Their pride tells them that beating on a weaker opponent is "cowardly". Heh.
Highly doubtful.
Animals are treated with more love and respect than people are.
If some kid goes around pinging squirrels with a slingshot it's no issue to anyone. Neither is employing some guy with a needle gun to puncture the skulls of cows.
People however get seriously freaked out over this...
Vigilantes have hijacked a group set up for distraught pet-lovers after 100 cats went missing, with one man claiming to have pinpointed the "killer" while others advocated a boycott of take-aways amid fears the animals had been used in kebabs.
The Police and Crime Commissioner for Suffolk has urged residents not to “take the law into their own hands†after one man publicised the name of the street where he believes the perpetrator lives, by mapping the streets where the cats disappeared.
In this case, it would seem, someone is hungry.
Mmmm, offal... I've almost completely lost my sense of taste nowadays, but that dark meaty flavour is one of the few things I can still taste. Yum.
Although, I did buy some ox's heart a few weeks ago and was really disappointed. I'd never cooked heart before, and there wasn't as much meat there as I thought there would be.
by MrDeltaI personally think the rabbit population is getting out of hand in my area.
Could be a new past time next spring. You never know.
I could probably fill up a few freezers.
This is one of the things I miss most about my childhood. There is nothing like a rabbit stew with fresh meat. I doubt I'll ever be able to taste it again :(
by BelladonnaAlthough it is possible that those children grew taller as a result of a diet rich in organ meats, correlation does not imply causation, and the evidence you present is anecdotal.
Anyways, I apologize for losing it.
It is a proven fact.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stunted_growth
Stunted growth is a reduced growth rate in human development. It is a primary manifestation of malnutrition in early childhood, including malnutrition during fetal development brought on by the malnourished mother. According to the latest UN estimates, an estimated 162 million children under 5 years of age, or 25%, were stunted in 2012. More than 90% of the world's stunted children live in Africa and Asia, where respectively 36% and 56% of children are affected.[1] Once established, stunting and its effects typically become permanent. Stunted children may never regain the height lost as a result of stunting, and most children will never gain the corresponding body weight. It also leads to premature death later in life because vital organs never fully develop during childhood.
