Yeah, I am not convinced they are the best chelators either, however, they are chelators, and there is nothing that is cheaper or better.

http://healthland.time.com/2013/09/12/cilantro-more-than-an-herb-it-can-purify-water-too/

After testing various samples of plants from cacti to flowers, the researchers determined that cilantro is the most prevalent and powerful so-called bioabsorbant material in the area. Bioabsorption is the scientific term for using organic materials often found in plants, that when dried, could replace the charcoal currently used in filters.

They are bitter tasting herbs. From an evolutionary perspective, why is bitter there? Bitter is a poison.

However, if we consider how toxic soap is, or how bitter tasting it is, one has to wonder why these bottom feeders are attracted to bitter flavors, and why they live the longest in thier eco-systems, respectively.

It's the catfish that are attracted to the soap. No other fish. They live the longest, and they basically feed off the bottom of the lake, in the dirt.

I just didn't follow up with more blatantly obvious lines of evidence.

You know, insular dwarfism, is a stretch of the imagination.

Malnutrition, and stunted growth, well that's a little more in your face.

Hey I know. These kids in the family had their testicles cut off and it caused their limbs to grow larger.

Hey, why not go and get a grant and explore your theories on environmental, dietary, genetic and epigenetic causes.

In the meantime, I'm eating nutritiously.

Doesn't it shock the hell out of anyone else that the majority of modern medicines are based on organ meat extracts, plant extracts, while of the most valuable meat out there, goes straight into the dumpster?

Jesus, you can't even make an ebola virus vaccine without sucking the blood from a survivor.

Does anyone understand that? People are dying from ebola, and vaccines are limited. Ask yourself why there is a limited supply. No kidding around with you people. Seriously.

Some guy survives, they take their blood, and they patent it, and resell it for a fortune, and who pays for it? The government, that's right, you. Power to the people!

I have weened myself off pork, and shitty beef, and am working to ween myself off chicken as well.

I am basically trying to eliminate meat all together

High five -- Eventually, I'll end up doing the same. I'm pretty sure there are good alternatives for meat. I've heard that dried fruits are a good option to replace it.

Mmmm, offal... I've almost completely lost my sense of taste nowadays, but that dark meaty flavour is one of the few things I can still taste. Yum.

Seriously, I was debating whether or not eating cow tongue would revitalize my taste buds.

There is a phenomenon in science where a sore throat that is more or less an open wound, repairs itself with the lining of the stomach. So, the body is in fact somehow mis-mapping, or potentially grabbing resources it needs to do the job from a different part of the body.

I am totally speculating.

It's the carnitine that you'll basically be missing out on if you skip the meats.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carnitine#Sources

I have a huge bag of L-carnitine, and I supplement with that.

I eat tons of non-hydrogenated peanut butter, and for the extra protein I go for the beans, and seeds. Lentils, sunflower seeds, and occasionally I make protein bars from Textured Vegetable Protein. It's dirt cheap. They say there is hexane in it, but no more than what you could expect to inhale with one trip to the gas pump.

In my humble opinion, fish is better.

I've never been a huge fan of meat (and if I eat it's because I have to).

I've also heard that read meat might increase uric acid in your organism. I hope you're not a huge fan of pork, because someone told me once that pigs didn't sweat, so they probably have a lot of toxins in their flesh...ewww.

I didn't say that malnourishment didn't contribute to growth stunting in general, I said that in the case of this particular family, there may have been environmental, dietary, genetic and epigenetic causes other than the consumption of organ meats relating to the children's large size vis-a-vis their parents' smaller stature. I also said that if it works for you, that's all that matters. I am a proponent of herbal medicine and tinctures. I actually produce some- so I understand full well that not everything has to be proved in a lab prior to being deemed beneficial. Anecdotal evidence can be very persuasive. Your apology is accepted- but unnecessary. That was you losing it? I'd hate to see how you'd react to bad jokes about 'yo mamma ;)

Like I said, good luck getting cabbages and scorpions to mate in the wild. I don't care how much seductive music is playing in the background; it ain't gonna happen. You're simply wrong on that point. I've already explained the difference between genetic engineering and artificial selection. To borrow your own words, I'm not going to waste my time giving someone who combines a "useless education" with arrogance a further "leg-up". And for the record, now you owe me an apology. :P

I can't see that so from where I'm sitting so your undoubtedly petulant rebuttal is falling on deaf ears. As we say to toddlers pitching a tantrum, "use your words". :P

I don't really follow the cultivation of wild plants to ancient early farming, but it's only been a few thousand generations and we've got tomatoes that are gigantic. All throughout history, they've taken wild plants that barely provide sustenance, and taken the seeds from the best of the best.

That's evolution. Heredity.

No hocus pocus...
