You said,
As for the other stuff you've brought to the table. That's very interesting. It seems you're onto something. Perhaps the sprites has a way of creating more water. Is it converting energy, or some kind of matter ? Or is it defying the written laws of physics by creating water from scratch.
There is really no other option... there are no comets delivering water to earth... the explanation that water is formed in the most distant nebulas, is unsatisfactory and impossible.
Volcanism, lightning, these are planetary norms, they are not exceptions to the earth. They are the fundamental ways that planets work.
Let's think really hard about this... if there were comets bombarding the earth with enough comets to fill it's oceans, there would be clear evidence across the solar system of such a massive event, and while there is the late heavy bombardment period, it is not enough...
We do have meteors that burn up in our atmosphere, who knows, maybe thousands of them every day. Now we know there is a lot of junk orbiting the Earth, probably as a result of those meteors. Some of them contain iron, and some are said to contain ice. Surely they MIGHT leave some kind of particle, whatever its made up from in the Earth's atmosphere, and if so, maybe they might serve as a material for the sprites to process. I personally can't say it is so, but one thing that stands clear, is that the evidence in those studies you've shown has merit.
People won't even recognize the mares for what they are... giant pools of lava that only face the side of the moon that is tidally locked with the Earth. The other side of the moon, just does not show impact crators to the extent needed to fill the earths oceans.
It always interests me how our moon is the only one out of the one hundred twenty something moons in out solar system, that has 1 side locked with the planet it's parented to.
When it comes to lunar exploration, I'm confused. We had years of NASA showing us how the moon up close is comprised of white rock and sand, then when the Chinese recently landed their rover on it, we saw how the moon is vastly a brown tone with red highlights. Then, China stopped publicizing their lunar photos, which makes me wonder, did they blow the lid on something, or did they decided to join the secrecy club like there is something to hide. Unless I go up there myself, I can't be sure what the other side of the moon is like.
I do believe a moon has a volcano or a hundred. When comet Ison made it's pass this year, one of Juputer's moons, named Io, had an eruption so big, it was popping off of the world itself.
The comet itself is said to be made up of ice, this one was a sun grazer, much bigger than the Earth. I'm sure it was much bigger than our planet cause when it grazed the suns orbit, it's tail was still visible when it was dissolving. The Earth also flew between the comets debris field, and it was that time for some months did we have those nights where we'd see 100 or more comets a night burning in our atmosphere. That was earlier this year.
If the sprites use materials that burned up in the upper atmosphere, or if there are some kind of particles or gas from these astrological events that take place such as burning debris from projectiles from our protective layer, I wouldn't know. I just love when science is challenged, and the Earth's growth due to freshly baked water has me pondering what the hell is going on.
Additionally, if there were a massive ice comet event, they fukin burst in the atmosphere and evaporate totally in a nuclear style event.
That's the thing though, even the small bodies that roast away in the Earth's atmosphere, are equivalent to nuclear events, or maybe worse.
Here's some footage of last years guest Meteor in Russia. This one was said to have been the size of a car, before it detonated 30 miles above the Earth. The thing was doing something like 20 miles per second, 3 minutes after it's pass, came the sonic boom that blew out windows and doors from 30+ miles away.
Other footage of the comet itself shows how the trail laid in the sky like a cloud, must have been disintegrated into some retardedly fine flaky grain with all that force while the winds of high altitude spread it along the sky, possibly awaiting sprite conversion, usually they would fall from higher up. Of course this is all theoretical.
It's like the dinosaurs... there was no comet... it was in fact a large igneous province event, where eruptions devastated the atmosphere. It is more plausible that volcanism being the norm on every planet is it's core shaper.
Comets are not the norm in the solar system. They are the exception, the rare events.
If anyone thinks it fukin accreted to the Earth, well, then you are truly an idiot.
When we see comets, their tails go for hundreds of millions of miles in length, and I'm talking just the visible part of the tail. The particles, scientifically speaking are commonly made up of ice, breaking off while the sun lights up the approaching comet. When the comet itself is long gone, it does leave behind quite a mess and the effects or rather the debris left behind are very long term.
I can't say for sure what's in every meteor or comet. But I do know they burn up IN our atmosphere all the time. I don't see any reason for the traveling debris to always remain in orbit. when we see them burn and seemingly vanish.
In no way am I trying to prove or disprove anything. We see things shooting in the night sky all the time, It would be more fascinating if the sprites were the sole provider of all of this extra water that is in part of the Earth's growth, but until we know more about them, I think the meteor theory is still valid for the sake of finding out what exactly is going on with this.
