not doing anything is much easier. doing something requires work. work for some people i probably wont like anyway.

on the other hand, if i do push him, i would of been the reason he is dead. and i probably wont like him too. see a dilemma.

to let 5 people i don't like die, or to kill 1 i don't like. its not that easy to choose! Damaged had a good solution, to kill all 6. But how are you gonna get the fat guy to those guys before the trolley arrives? He is fat and heavy.

I'd just leave it as it is. Its better this way. Maybe the fat guy will get some ptsd anyway.

If the trolley is no direct threat to you, why bother about it hitting anyone else?

So, when did this site become reduced to  Kohlberg questions? Where is the fun, the complexity, the excitement? Please, I miss it ever so much.

Is death comical to you?

It's less than comical to me if I don't make it comical.

My parents have the right idea: "Party when I'm dead!" They said, "Rejoice!" They said. No point in getting all upset over someone's death. Make their passing a good thing.

You realize the only thing most people think about before they die, is how they're leaving everyone else? Might as well make sure they know you're not gonna be destroyed when they pass. I imagine it'd make them feel good.

I agree with that.

And I know people who would say I'm "heartless" because of that. Is lack of remorse really so bad if it's rationally accounting for other people's feelings? I mean, I guess I'm kind of just making up an excuse for not feeling anything about it, but you could say my sincerity is in my rationality.

That makes sense to me. People don't have much choice in how they do or don't feel about things. But what they can do is behave intelligently. And while what is considered 'intelligent behavior' is subjective, whether it comes from feelings or from thought should make little difference. Those who think actions are disingenuous if they do not arise from our feelings fail to appreciate that we do not get to choose our emotions, rather what we feel comes by its own accord.

Aye, and that's why I think sincerity is lost when people are emotionally compromised. I don't take anything anyone says seriously if they appear to be emotionally compromised, because there's no way that what they're saying could be the truth - It's tainted by chaotic emotion. But it seems that emotional words are the only things people take seriously anymore.

For example, I just watched an emotional breakdown of a fight between my stepmother and her mother last night. Nothing that either of them said was close to comprehensible. But each thing that the other said was the most important thing either of them ever heard. Their words somehow meant something to the other. It was like watching unusual animals fuck. You don't really "get it," but you can't look away, because it's so bizarre.

I'm just sittin in the corner liek, "Am I on Punk'd? This is unreal..."

Edit: Thought you said "that makes sense to me."

I'll reply correctly later, I have a wedding to go to.

Second Edit: So it seems you did say "that makes sense to me." I must have been drunk...

Jeez. Did anyone consider rigging all the possible tracks with explosives, so as to prevent any such possible situation?

This was a situation that had defined rules and limitations. It's for pessimists. These people don't believe in prevention.
