by Pink01Where is the disorder in high functioning??? I'm deeply confused.
They don't like competition
Psychology may have originated from philosophy and theory and conjecture. But I assure you that it is very much so science now. And it continues in that direction with increasing leaps and bounds. I consider myself as a man of science and base all of my research on things that can be measured, tested, and easily repeated. So if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and walks like a duck it is a duck. That statement is not conjecture and simply fact.
You do make a good point that not nearly enough research has been done on psychopaths and Hare himself has admitted to this. This is why his checklist is most often used in criminology and forensic psychology and not in clinical settings. I would like to research high function members of these neurologically variant groups.
High functioning in this context refers not to the disorder but the individual. On a spectrum they would fall closer to neurotypical then Charles Manson. Many psychopaths in this range are sometimes referred to a successful psychopaths or corporate psychopaths.

I don't feel judged by it. I hated it before I was dragged into this lifestyle (aka self awareness - hauling me off to a psychward) I think it's a waste of time and everyone that goes into psychology has something wrong with them or has in the past. In fact in psychology today its the mission to label everyone.
You're right I don't. Because I lack the self awareness (partially intelligence) to understand a lot of the issues in psychology. I have no interest in understanding other people.
But you got me! lol
by MESSIAHYou say that only because you feel judged by it. And no one likes to feel that their very being and worth as a person is being judged and measured. In truth you likely have no concept of what psychology really is.
I love being judged! It reveals a lot about the judge :)
by MESSIAHYa you're clearly not jaded. (sarcasm) If you aren't interested in labels. Of understanding people and yourself then why are you here? Why spend your time on the forum at all?
Who says self awareness is my number one reason for being here?
I'd say it's probably 4/5 or 5/5 on my list lol.
