Refusing To Treat A Patient

by BELIAL

They must get paid and offered opportunities to advance in their career partially or mostly based on their success rate and performance rate.

If they saw you as too much of a challenge or too problematic then it might look bad on their record and they decided "fuck it", and labeled you as a threat and that would be enough for them to legally dismiss you.

They care more about their careers and personal gain than helping patients. Why is this such a fucking surprise?

This is not over me being too much of a challenge to her or too problematic. It's over something I told her in confidence that concerned her enough to stop me from ever seeing any doctor in that clinic again.

I got in contact with another clinic and will hopefully see another doctor within the next couple of weeks. He'll be expecting my medical records, which may or may not present a problem, depending on what is written on them. I'm hoping my doctor didn't write down what I told her, as it's not an actual medical issue.

A couple of years back my psychologists secretary told me that my therapist didn't want to see me anymore. She said that I need to see a psychiatrist.

What did you tell her, and what motivated you to tell her that?

I'm not telling you what I told her. That's something I'd rather keep to myself.

I only talked to my medical doctor because I'm not seeing a therapist at the moment. What I told her came up in conversation and I guess I told her more than I should have. It concerned her more than I expected it would.

Well, without even a general idea of what sort of thing you said, I can't say much aside from good luck with your new doctor.

I've been refused therapy by one psychiatrist and one psychologist in the past.

I'm guessing the psychiatrist wouldn't see me again after the first session because my issues weren't the type that required medication. And the psychologist refused to see me again after the second session because I was a bit arrogant to her.

Um wtf. Are they fucking paranoid pussy's for going into a fucking profession they should already be prepared to go in?

I swear to God, death knocks on the doors of those meant for retribution.

Is this thread really about finding out what happened to other people or to dangle the "discontinued treatment because of something I said" reason given?  Do you want to see how much we wanna know what it is that you said, TK?  Or a generalized curiousity of the forum's populace and their experiences?  Both?

I'm curious if other people have had similar experiences. I don't imagine being refused medical treatment is a common thing, so I'm interested to know if others here have experienced something similar and what their circumstances were.

As I wrote in the earlier in the thread it did happen to me once but because basically I lied to her (well I conned the pharmacy into giving more than they should have).

Thinking about it though at the time I didn't try to defend myself I accepted the rejection without much fuss because I was tired of that GP anyway but I'm not even sure they can legally do that, for instance what if by rejecting a patient they endangered their life, be it directly or indirectly?
