Er... philosophy... Yeah. They don't teach that in community college. She should top that up with some ethics and poli sci courses. Most colleges do offer courses on politics and gvt.

Or did she specialize in some absurdly useless branch of the discipline like Mind & Meta? (Yeah yeah. I'm biased. I audited most of my philosophy courses.)

you feel empathy? but practice callousness? doesn't that just make you a callous bastard afraid of getting hurt yourself? why would you practice being callous on purpose? are you here because you just like this forum or can sociopaths also be defined as people who have empathy but don't use it?

i like utilitarian myself because it sounds more moral, i can say to someone, "im a utilitarian!" and they are like, "alright" but if i said "machiavellian" they'd say, "what is wrong wit you?"

nah, i live in the middle of no where. my sister is going to be a chef now, but she did a practical branch.

It sounds just as bad to people who now their shit. Also, telling people defeats the purpose. I think you like your labels. Utilitarian, sociopath...what else? 

That's how it goes sometimes. I'm looking into learning a trade myself (UGH. I hate that it's all I can afford now.) There's decent self employment potential in this trade, tho.

i think most people know what a utilitarian is, but not what a machiavellian is. machiavelli has a worse connotation than it deserves.

i do like labels. i like how they simplify things, though i know that many labels are over simplifications. the only other label for myself i can think of right now is athiest. you have any labels for yourself? or are you too hipster for labels..

I do label myself. I just don't expect people to care. I'm too sullen and deep to be a hipster though.
