Correction: We use the M40A5 with 338. Lapua rounds.

Stop getting your gun knowledge from call of duty.

My bad they did switch to to the A5. It's a 308 round not a 338

Spare me your ignorance.

You do realize the article you pasted from this article is referring to M40 as a weapon system, which is due to change. You obviously lack the basic knowledge for weapons.

The M40A5 is the newest version of that weapon system. Don't doubt my knowlege wih rifles, it's in my job description.

Just because your a wannabe doesn't mean everyone else is. I actually earned my title, something you could never do.

Have either of you even shot this weapon?  Shit, for that matter... Seen it?  For a 400 yard shot I'd be satisfied for a kill shot with an M110.  The Barrett doesn't even have to HIT the target at such close range to do damage to the threat... the M40 (in all it's variations) is a beast in itself, and nearly as good as sex to employ;-]

To add... The M4 will rip a man's skull in half at 200 yards.  Just food for thought.

What weapon would you choose, and why you chose it. Lets keep it realistic.

1. Close quarters combat............E.g, Clearing a small room

2. Ranged..........E.g, A auditoorium

3. Sniper............E.g, 300 yards or greater

As making bombs and sniper rifles are not so readily obtainable for such as I, and close combat is more common than the need to clear out large areas. A knife is not a bad implement but being smaller also not always the best. Still it is useful. Better for close combat and ranged, so to speak, is to be inside a moving vehicle with doors and windows locked.

Another range weapon and effective is poison in the water supply.

The above options are cheap and readily available if you know what to look for and the concentrations necessary for effect.

For the ladies,

Concealed in a lovely up do. They are quite benign in appearance, and pass security checks. Best to have a copy made from stainless steel.

Nope the closest I have had to firing a m40 is my Remington model 700-308 I use for deer hunting. When did the USMC rechamber the M40 to 338? And have you heard anything about the 300 winchester round? I will have to see if the 338 is available to the public yet.
