SMV means "sexual market value".  Up until around the age of 25 women are in control. They know that guys want them and they can get away with being bitches. They chase after alpha bad boys and use betas for whatever they can get out of them. As the saying goes, Five Minutes Of Alpha = Fifty Years Of Pining. At around 30, problems start.

Whoever came up with that little gem sounds like a sexual failure who clearly doesn't know how to appreciate a woman for what she's worth, nor what to do with her in the bedroom. :) Good sex starts in the mind. Someone who can only derive pleasure from the superficial aspects of the act betrays his inexperience, and lack of creativity in the bedroom. And anyone who reduces a woman's worth to statistical terms like "SMV" sounds about as sexy as a bitter actuary with mommy issues. The guy is full of shit, lol.

 The underlined just shows some hints that subconsciously, you might have the same SMV mindset in the same terms as they're seeing it in. Just a thought.

It's an internet trend, where self-identified "alpha" males criticize the behavior of so-called "beta" males and share tactics on how to "get laid" by women they perceive to have a high value on a predetermined rating scale.

I have two things to say about it.

1. It's effective, in the sense that it gets them laid.

2. They're still just dumb guys trying to get laid.

 They're simple biology terms used by both men and women equally. I've heard that its a more logical way of describing what alot of women call the "Nice Guy vs. Not Nice Guy that I want to Bang" difference. It's more descript, and makes more sense.

We're a sexually dimorphic species, we have alphas and betas. There are pros and cons to being either if you want to talk in strictly biological terms, unlike what alot of these men think.

A lot of gay guys think like this.

You have SMV up until 25 and can get away with being not that fit or not that attractive because people are attracted to your youthfulness.

After 30 problems start, better be good looking and in shape if you wanna get laid. Unless of course you're a bear.

Enough about gays back to women:

In fact sometimes I think that men naturally think like this (ie selecting a younger more attractive 'prey') because it is logical from a natural selection stand point, youthfulness or at least being youthful looking equates more chances to be a good child bearer.

 It's more of a paleolithic mindset being projected on a modern society. It's just that some of us haven't learned to see outside it. It's a way to land a really boring assed relationship though.

Of course men are going to be attracted to younger women. But the fact of the matter is that if you spend your life chasing women instead of learning to savour them- ever seeking to bag the youngest, the tautest, the one with the biggest tits- you're going to eat a whole lot of McDonald's, and deprive yourself of some very fine dining. 

 Same to women of the same mindset. I guarantee that's part of why women are less happy in the states by and large than they used to be, compared to the same with men. They have too many unrealistic goals and expectations, and get bitter when they don't achieve them.

In my mind, sexual finesse is largely a question of approach and attitude. It encompasses notions such as erotic creativity, seduction, and a measure of subtlety. In my opinion, TK lacks refinement and taste in this area. She is very crude. Of course, that is a purely subjective assessment on my part. There are a myriad of sexual preferences- and as the French say, there is just no accounting for taste. 

And you see a reason for people to have sexual finesse on this forum? lol

I'm guessing you've never heard of the ability to wear different 'masks' in different situations, or adopt different attitudes.

Do you act exactly the same way here as you do in every other social situation? Of course you don't, and neither do I.

It is quite possible to show finesse in one situation where it's required and none in another, where it's not required.

If view sexual finesse as a requirement to fulfill, or a mask to wear, you are being disingenuous. I don't know about you, but the bedroom is where I like the masks to come off.

I find that hard to believe. I'd like to see the research that backs up that claim. You got any?

You could make the argument that the people who run those online communities are leaders in a pack trying to create something, but the popularity is dependent on their readers who also self identify as players of a game where the goal is to get laid.

A natural leader is someone who does what he likes and is good at it. These people are trying to craft an image of confidence, and read articles that try to explain how to do it most effectively.

If you intend to lure someone sexually, then you have to act accordingly. Any one can learn sexual finesse. It's not something you're born with.

True. It just doesn't appear to come naturally to you. But perhaps even you can be taught. 

All of my ex-boyfriends, plus the guys who I was in a purely sexual relationship with and the other random guys I've fucked will very likely disagree with you on that.
