Nigga plz. Shorty do u understand science ? Science is the reason you are even talking to us. What has God done to help you out Shorty ?
by EdvardIsn't selfishness/taking care of only yourself what satanism is about? It's kinda the opposite of what my granny was into..My point is that man has some needs that science can't fulfil. Spiritual needs. I know smart scientists who are also believers. That's why I'm not sure one can be a replacement for the other... Just look at this new age stuff that's happening these days.
This is cute. But I don't agree it's spiritual needs that organised religion serves. And certainly not everyone, or even the majority of people, have any kind of spirituality. There are societies such as Japan which function well without any kind of religion. Perhaps in days gone by religion fulfilled a social or community function, but clearly it isn't one that our generation feels a need for. After all, we have the internet :D
I'm not sure how satanism got brought into this, but there are multiple versions of "satanism". They are generally about secular/humanistic approaches to life and yes there is a strong emphasis on the self. The Human Animal and the importance of you.
As for the prevelence of spirtualism. Yea, I think that is very natural to us as species. It has existed on every continent, regardless of where we spread out. We will always need answer we don't have, and to that end we will postulate and fill those gaps with illogic, because it satisifies that need to know. And I think that is fine.
What I don't accept is that ORGANIZED RELIGION, has been the bane of humanity since the beginning. A method of ruling, controlling... manipulating people into doing such so many terrible things. The worst of all being wasting this life in hope of another that most likely never comes.
I think we can develope healthy belief systems. That place a premium on doing something worthwhile with this life.
