Is Sherlock from the BBC series a convincing sociopath?

Watson seems to disagree:

People with asperger's don't go to the lengths that Sherlock does to trick people even his best friends and family. Have you seen episode 1 season 3?

Of course, John is not going to admit it to the detective.

High functioning aspie? I've always thought so too.

Example:

Would a sociopath freeze, like sherlock, when he gave that best man's speech? No, a high functioning sociopath would just crack jokes off the cuff.

Yeah, Damon's hot, but he's not as cold or ruthless as Elijah is. Sorry about the videos!

it depends on a person but like i said that's more of a psychopath than sociopath no one has told me of his bad childhood or teen so he has no history to back it up and he doesn't seem at all hyperactive so......

probably psychopath the directors are idiots

there's no such thing...

sherlock is psychopath... asperger and psychopath are on the same level at different ends one lacks understanding the other lacks most emotions

while a sociopath will have a sooky panic attack at someone devaluing their image or hurting their friend to seek revenge

fucking hell you people

if i wasn't here you would be calling a potato a sociopath and a tree stump an asperger i swear

With you being an aspie yourself (albeit a low functioning one), I'll take your word for it ;)

You don't have to have had a bad childhood to be a sociopath, it is just the norm

Seems like he's a high functioning Aspie to me.

I could point examples in the series, but that would bring about spoilers.
