exactly! that's what i was thinking. i would think that psycho and sociopaths would be more intoverted rather than extroverted, but that's just a guess.

I can't speak for other sociopaths, but in my case, I can switch from being an introvert when I don't care to socialize, to an extrovert when I do socialize, but that also depends on the social environment I'm in too.

I also can switch.

We are much better players, because others are fixed in one lifestyle.

Psychopaths can be introverted, extroverted or both. In fact no one can be fully introverted or extroverted.  The most successful psychopaths are the introverts pretending to be extroverts whereas psychopaths who are only extroverted are more likely to end up in jail due to their quick temper and habit to throw everything to the surface which can lead to violent acts towards others.

As for the signs of a psychopathic personality, they go well with both types. In addition, most common personality types among psychopaths are I(E)STP, ENTP, INTJ and I(E)SFP. Seems like a fair share.

However, the most common star sign among serial killers is Cancer. People with such star sign are more introverted than not. But then again, not all serial killers are psychopaths. Moving further, most psychopaths or villainous characters in the media are portrayed as somewhat introverted (Hannibal Lecter, Dexter, Patrick
Bateman, Norman Bates, Gordon Gekko, the Joker, etc.). Moreover, an extrovert is more likely to talk his heart out while an introvert would encourage such behaviour by providing open questions instead of sharing something about himself. Psychopaths are also said to be deflecting from questions related to their personal life.

Anyway, I believe that both options are possible but I imagine a person, suffering from this disorder to be more introverted than extroverted (in regards of their inner personality, not their acting).

I can be either introverted or extroverted depending on the situation and my mood, but I'm an introvert inside.

Psychopathy is a self indulgent personality.  It's not so much about that which lies outside the psychopath as how the psychopath envisions herself being visioned from the outside.  It's all about perception, until one desire becomes so strong the psychopath doesn't care about the world outside any longer and simpley must acquire what it wants... It needs.  I imagine there are more extroverted and some who are more introverted on the axis of psychopathy.

I would have thought the opposite, the focus and desire is inward leaning. no value is given to the outside, aside from what is desired on the inside. extroverts share, do psychopaths and sociopaths share anything with anyone? i could totally be wrong, but this was the perception i got...

Is sociopathy/psycopathy just extreme forms of being a extrovert? Can our minds be SO directed towards the outside that everything within(guilt, emotions, etc) are ignored?

No, because sociopaths and psychopaths can be either introverts or extroverts. Emotions are felt, but not very often or for very long.

For the psychopath, who was born that way, guilt is non-existent. For the sociopath, who was made that way, guilt would be very rare.

Question for you Thrill Kill, based on the last sentence; psycopaths are born and sociopaths are made?

Am I reading this correctly? If so, could you provide more information on this idea.

Here's something that may interest you. I just found it myself, so I'm still reading it as well:

According to that link, I'd say I'm more of a psychopath than a sociopath:

"Psychopaths often live at the fringes of society. They often tend to be extremely disorganized and are unable to maintain normal relationships with family, friends or co-workers."

"Psychopaths often find it hard to maintain a steady job and home."

Looking down the comparison chart, I can definitely relate to the psychopath more.

I am ENFP and empathic.

According to that link, I would have to say I am sociopathic. Especially with:

'Tendency to appear superficially normal in social relationships, often social predators.'
