.
Except to inhibit even the (annoying) freedom you had to do that would factor in others fears of where the invisible line may or may not be drawn, if the one in power plays "favorites", the nature of creating structure out of this place, and so many other factors.
You were free to make your puppets, and we were free to complain, bitch, and moan about them. I may not have enjoyed them, but I'd prefer that sort of thing be allowed and tolerated as opposed to an excuse to instigate moderation.
Again, time will tell for what level of controls will or won't be overlaying this place in the future.
by hypercubeWe still get along fine. I'm just pointing out that you sound like an egotistical twat who doesn't want to consider anyone else's opinion as valid. It's not personal.
Edvard's opinions are especially invalid. He wants to relive the past, which I don't have that much of a problem doing, cause I don't see anything wrong with sticking up for myself while others set out to threaten and intimidate me by involving my family friends and work. Of course I sound like an egotistical twat.
Thrill Kill's opinions are invalid to, and it's not my fault that they are not, it's her own dumb ass that makes her bed.
The reason I said "just answer the question" is because I had to ask it three times and you evaded each time, so I got sick of that shit and said answer the question. I wanted to hear your side of the story, and you never bothered to tell me. So don't complain now that I've only been told one side, I fucking asked you directly multiple times.
Well if you've noticed, things have picked up around here and the chat was busy, my answer to Edvard's accusations is more complicated than a simple yes or no. I wrote it a hundred times, and I'm tired of doing it, here's a briefing.
- Edvard has/had a thing for Alia.
- Alia get's lucky and scores my name with images and some small fraction of my facebook wall, some video, and whatever.
- Bitch tried to put me on a leash.
- When trying to rule me, I refuse Alia.
- As punishment and as expected, Alia exposes me.
- I ignored Alia. Even when she continues exposing me.
- Alia waits till my birthday, at midnight EST, Alia brings my family into this. Little Nephew, baby Niece, Sister in law, Brothers, and even some Cousins. Even shares their facebooks.
- Edvard spends months provoking the situation. ( As he still does today )
So Hypercube, excuse me if a seem like some kind of monster. But to answer your question. Yes, I threatened to hunt down Alia using both legal and illegal means if I have to, regardless of who disturbs my family or work. I will stay here, and I will watch.
As for Edvard. Well he's low. His seat is below, serving some friendzone friend married chick. He get's offended when I tell him to man up, cause quite frankly, his place at Alia's foot can only look lame to me. The root of Edvard's issues with me, has to do with issues that are not his own, but he'd rather get involved to impress his buddy.
I'm also against spammers and hackers, but I also don't want to worry about hurting someone's feelings when they have power. Like I told you, I don't know you, therefore I don't trust you, and seeing the way you talked about "power" and had a condescending "just trust me everything will be okay" tone made me trust you less.
You're a noob. Those who know me best from here, knows that I come here for the abuse. I don't believe abusing power to be the solution. Even when I seem to lash out, I'm actually very reserved. I said a million times how I'm prone to guilt simply from opening up in any kind of fight. I'm not trying to boast when I say my words can deal out damage. I'm more about the good. I want to be.
I don't trust people who want authority. You seem to want it. I don't know why. Do what you want but don't expect strangers to give you the benefit of the doubt, and don't try to "get along" with me when I just want answers to questions and honest discussion.
The power is for dealing with hackers and clean up. Not hovering around as some authority. What has been done, is a service to you. What I would be doing is more janitorial than policing. Power is only bad when it is misplaced. Those who actually think for themselves around here, think I'm the best one for this job.
You're free to say whatever you want, nor do you have to trust me. I'll be fine, there are others who deliver me signals I find more appealing, as opposed to insecurities of a stranger.
If moderation is solely to stop hackers, whatever. What will you do if someone posts your personal information?
That has been done once. To answer that question, it would only serve me personally, to keep them where they are. The dunce think I'd do what they would, so they worry.
I'll forgive you're questions, they bring out a bad mood in me.

by TurncoatSpatial: "I'll just do what I usually do. Read some, skip some, sometimes we debate, win some, lose some."
If this is really all you plan to do as a mod, then I (currently) don't see much of a problem. We always technically had a moderator, we just had one who kept quiet about the potential "power" she had on reserve (until using it anyway). A new moderator who doesn't abuse these new-found powers strikes me as not much of a change from what we had before.
I'm mostly disappointed at the idea of there being a moderator than who it happens to be.
Edvard: "If you had any decency in you you'd refuse the position Tony. The SW forum has always been without a moderator, but ofc you don't care that the general consensus is that we don't want you or anyone else in that position. You'll just be the dictator's faithful dog."
I can't really say I'd have turned down the position either. If he turned it down, it'd just have been thrown at another user. It's a matter of what's done with it at this point more so than the fact it's been done at all. I'd argue it's a test of character, where we can see if Spatial is above using mod powers to take advantage of others or not once the flak traffic rises related to this decision. Time will tell.
Hyper: "but I also don't want to worry about hurting someone's feelings when they have power."
This is pretty much the root of what's been going on lately.
Thank you ♥
