We still get along fine.  I'm just pointing out that you sound like an egotistical twat who doesn't want to consider anyone else's opinion as valid.  It's not personal.

The reason I said "just answer the question" is because I had to ask it three times and you evaded each time, so I got sick of that shit and said answer the question.  I wanted to hear your side of the story, and you never bothered to tell me.  So don't complain now that I've only been told one side, I fucking asked you directly multiple times.

I'm also against spammers and hackers, but I also don't want to worry about hurting someone's feelings when they have power.  Like I told you, I don't know you, therefore I don't trust you, and seeing the way you talked about "power" and had a condescending "just trust me everything will be okay" tone made me trust you less.

I don't trust people who want authority.  You seem to want it.  I don't know why.  Do what you want but don't expect strangers to give you the benefit of the doubt, and don't try to "get along" with me when I just want answers to questions and honest discussion.

If moderation is solely to stop hackers, whatever.  What will you do if someone posts your personal information?

Spatial: "I'll just do what I usually do. Read some, skip some, sometimes we debate, win some, lose some."

If this is really all you plan to do as a mod, then I (currently) don't see much of a problem. We always technically had a moderator, we just had one who kept quiet about the potential "power" she had on reserve (until using it anyway). A new moderator who doesn't abuse these new-found powers strikes me as not much of a change from what we had before.

I'm mostly disappointed at the idea of there being a moderator than who it happens to be.

Edvard: "If you had any decency in you you'd refuse the position Tony. The SW forum has always been without a moderator, but ofc you don't care that the general consensus is that we don't want you or anyone else in that position. You'll just be the dictator's faithful dog."

I can't really say I'd have turned down the position either. If he turned it down, it'd just have been thrown at another user. It's a matter of what's done with it at this point more so than the fact it's been done at all. I'd argue it's a test of character, where we can see if Spatial is above using mod powers to take advantage of others or not once the flak traffic rises related to this decision. Time will tell.

Hyper: "but I also don't want to worry about hurting someone's feelings when they have power."

This is pretty much the root of what's been going on lately.

Exactly this.  I love being able to say things.  I probably sound super hostile but it is my way of expressing myself and it is fun.

Honestly I just really don't want to get banned for spamming too many squirrel pictures.

He won't stick to doing just that. The moment someone pushes him too far (likely me) he'll be enforcing his mod 'powers' and start fucking with their username or ban them altogether.

Post squirrels all you wish.  No one said you couldn't.  Since when was that a problem?

Since the day you finally figured out my sense of humor.

ps your tiger still looks retarded, the nuclear clown was better.

Could be argued it's "spamming". I've seen forums outright not allow images that aren't "on topic" (especially meme stuff), banning users who do that after a warning or two, if not some sort of "three strikes" bullshit.

I personally like the squirrel stuff.

If that ends up being the case, I plan to stick around and watch as it unfurls.

If it never happens, all the better.
