Religion vs Satanism

Upon request I have started a thread on this.

I believe Religion is a crowd control device that suppresses human beings natural desires and needs. It's a brainwashing process.

Satanism teaches you to question what you believe in, to think critically, and to embrace your true nature. It's not an opposing religion, it's the exact opposite of religion. It's a philosophy. It's criticises religion. It requires nothing from you, it's just open to you. It doesn't threaten you with hell or promise rewards other than knowledge and guidance for you to start living the only life you have to the fullest, instead of waiting for an afterlife that just isn't there.

Satanism vs Religion is a battle of dark and light, except the dark does not represent evil.

The darkness represents the pits in which human nature has been thrown into, and the light represents false purity.

Yeah, religion is just brainwashing. Listen to a crowd of people 'singing' the lords prayer, it sounds like a cult of...well brainwashed people

Thanks Belial This subject can lead to more threads that go into more depth and directions filling up its own site. I think Luna should start a sister site and link them together because this subject will keep coming up. Thank you.

1. First the part I respect about Satanism is NOT to deceive oneself. To thine own self be true and you can't be "false" to anyone else. No one would be compromised if we were all equally honest about what we want or don't want. The truth sets us free, just as Christianity and Buddhism also teach. This is universal law regardless of belief.

2. secondly what corrupts religion is acting out of "unforgiveness/fear" that divides people instead of love of truth which includes/unites humanity. Division can happen among Satanists equally as atheists or deists/Christians etc.

There is both "relative" good/evil and "absolute principles"

That is a different topic/thread on if "evil is relative or hell exists" http://luna.soulcreative.org/topic/2013-10-30/relative-views-of-evil-or-hell-not-existing/5#42897

3. As for what you said in your other thread to hate those who deserve hate, and reward those who deserve that.

This is the path of retribution, retributive justice. the laws of karma where you get what you give.

This causes political infighting corruption and destruction, as in the Old Testament full of enslavement and genocide.

What rights the wrongs and heals relations is restorative justice where the truth sets humanity free from strife.

so that is how to tell the difference with enlightened people who don't stay stuck repeating cycles of the past.

The key is forgiveness/letting go so the mind is more free of emotional biases to avoid self-delusion and projection.

This is a natural law, and is independent of any religion. Law of reciprocity is found in all religions and philosophy.

I was into Satanism for awhile - traditional Satanism. I was involved in a religion that believed in Satan/Devil as a entity, similar to those who believe in God.

I had plans on starting my own Satanic church. I even had some potential followers (people I knew here in Aus). We were going to have a church where we could worship the Devil, perform rituals and mass orgies. One of my potential followers wanted to hang himself above the alter as a sacrifice to Satan. I don't know if he eventually killed himself or not.

Anyway, I didn't end up running a Satanic church because I ended having to move away and eventually, I lost interest in Satanism.

Hi Vacant Anything can be used to be creative or destructive. if you can look at religions as neutral languages for the laws, systems of symbols representing values or principles, these can be abused to impose/oppress people or can be used to express truths freely. It depends on usage. The same English language can be used to bully people to suicide or entice people to fight each other to death in gangs and wars; or it can be used to help a troubled soul find peace through recovery, to reach out and tell someone I love you, and make a positive difference in the world.

I'm glad you studied it in depth and are not afraid to discuss the knowledge.

I have a friend who is Wicca I will try to invite to come in here and share.

I have a gay atheist friend who believes in free grace and gets along great with Christians.

There is no need to be allergic to each other. What divides people is fear and unforgiveness projected from the past.

The language/religious terms can be translated and interpreted so we can agree what principles we are talking about.

This is really cool, Thank you Belial and TK for these discussions. If they get long we may need a section for threads like this. (Also a separate section for people discussion relationship abuse and advice since those get long, too.)

I'll try to keep this focused by topic. If it branches out, we'll start a new thread. So those can be grouped together.

for this thread it's about Satanism in general, in itself. All related issues will likely branch out from there.

So you agree that some Satanists/Atheists can also sound "brainwashed" and religiously closeminded like bigots.

And some Christians/religions can be practiced WITHOUT any brainwashing going on? That was my point, sorry.

Oh if that was your point then yeah, I agree

While there was a time that I truly believed in the Devil. These days I'm inclined to think that believing in the Devil is about as foolish as believing in God. If either entity truly exists, then I would like to know what purpose they genuinely serve.

I can see how the Devil would take pleasure in causing harm, but what purpose does God serve if he will not even protect his own?

I could walk outside my door with a knife now and slash someone's throat. Will God stop me? No. Will he protect the person I kill? No.

So, what is the point of even believing in a God that allows cruelty and murder and does nothing to stop it?
