 1. I'd say you are nontheist, which is neutral. But you are welcome to look up the Nth degrees/denominations of atheism and see if one of those fits what you believe/don't believe. There are some cool atheists on backpage.com or evilempire.com under religion (Pladecalvo posted the different types of atheism on there).

Also on usmessageboard there is Numan and DerideoTe who are both nontheists who identify as atheist but are reasonable about it.

2. If you believe in natural rights, what do you believe is the source of life or natural laws governing human nature?

If you just believe Life/Universe exist and don't need a creator, then that's still a form of nontheism where you just

don't put things in terms of a God or personified God. Buddhists are nontheistic yet believe in a spiritual nature and laws of karma or cause and effect.

Big Hint: whatever you believe about Justice is the same as what Jesus represents. So if you believe in retributive justice or restorative justice. If you believe in equal justice including all people universal = the political equivalent of universal salvation including all people.

Where would you say Justice comes from? Do you think it is arbitrarily decided by humans and written into laws purely by free will and social evolution and development to where we are today?

If you believe there is some divine intervention or process governing it, that is still along the lines of Deism if you believe in some higher force that authors or governs these laws.

If you just believe nature exists on its own and there is no big God or plan or order to life that sounds nontheistic.

My boyfriend calls himself agnostic because he believes there is something greater out there than not having a God at all, but no one can define what this God is. So something is out there, but he doesn'lt believe he or anyone knows it.

And he considers that agnostic, not knowing.

Hi MMP. Go ahead. We need something to break things up when they get too serious around here.

Do ppl know you're back? I saw Gia post and Circe. Why not start a thread?

Specifically, I identify as an agnostic atheist, because there is no way to disprove any god or supernatural force, but until I can be provided valid evidence of the existence of one, I will refrain from any beliefs of any.

OK I changed it. Someone else came back and was looking for the older members.

I agree it gets too heavy on one side, then there are nonsense msgs by puppets with no content on the other.

If you post an original thread, at least someone can see your name. Older members will recognize that easier.

Any suggestions on how to bring back the older members?

Who all did you know? I can ask Luna can she contact them?

That's smart not to 'assume' nonexistence. Too many ppl make that mistake and it seems obvious to me not to.

As for "proof" I believe in forming a consensus by agreeing what these definitions mean.

god's "truth" god's "love" wisdom universal laws, good will etc.

I call it the alignment theory. By aligning definitions then we can agree what we mean.

Like aligning variables A B C to correspond with X Y Z.

And the lemma in this proof is that in order for people to reconcile, proving that "forgiveness" is the factor

that either allows conflicting systems to align, or unforgiveness prevents people from reconciling across

religious or political lines. So proving by math and social statistics that "forgiveness"/unforgiveness

correlates to whether people can reconcile (regardless of their views, which we both know aren't prone to change).

By proving the forgiveness factor first, that can be used to align systems and reach consensus.

So if there is one God it will be understood in th eprocess we are talking about the same thing. and even if we don't agree on that, we'll agree what we call things and how to work out logistics in real life without conflict.

e Are you a unitarian?

I believe that the belief in a forgiving, loving entity that encourages people to be loving and forgiving to achieve an ultimate prize could help people get along, but we know it does not always work out that way..

Believing in God to make the world a better place and see the world as a better place does not convince me
