 Maybe an amazing race thing with a little more lethal competition between players and more lethal challenges

 Elaborate please. 

Maybe you could have a long maze full of closed doors with some kind of torture device set up behind each door that does not lead further along to the finish line.

They have to travel to various locations around the world, doing challenges assigned them by the mystery game runner. In the course of the challenges they are allowed to try to stop each other by any means up to and including lethal force, some challenges may even target specific members to hunt down and the first one to kill them wins the challenge. Some of the challenges may be highly dangerous to the players, both from a legal standpoint if they get caught and/or from a physical or psychological standpoint, threatening their mental and physical wellbeing. there can only be one ultimate winner and the person who is last in each challenge gets taken out.

That's a great idea. That would make an awesome story.

 I was going to, but I've changed my mind. I'm saving my torture ideas for my own stories.

Can't think of any good ideas for the story... Maybe will post some later.

I think it would be neat if you made a character or group of characters to represent the anions we used to have all around the old forum. How realistic is this story going to be? theres a lot of room to play around woth that feeling of uncertainty and ambiguity involved :D
