Hi everyone,
So perhaps some of you don't know, but most of what I do on this website besides when I'm talking about new features, or trying to fend Sugargirl's attacks off-- is write philosophy.
I don't write this stuff with the idea that my thoughts are accurate, but rather so that I can get feedback. For a couple years now, it really bothers me when I consider the model of reality and this universe. I put a lot of time into following new ideas, and trying to create my own little model that fits my logic.
I understand that my logic isn't perfect. I'm likely better off simply trusting someone, perhaps an expert, but as a single observer, I worry that perhaps they missed something. It's clear that a lot of people aren't really looking, but instead trying to sell their idea, or perpetuate another. I could never talk to my parents about these things because they are religious, and I can see the pain on my mom's face when I bring up any subject that implies (christian) god might not exist.
Anyway, I was wondering if you guys have put a lot of time into this, and if so how much? Existencialism I mean. How clear is the model of reality you have, and is your model mainstream? How long has your model been evolving as you've aged?
I don't think I'll ever find the answers, but I find the questions so alluring. The possiblities I find exciting. For example, here is a thought I was thinking earlier!
So when we hear in quantum physics or quantum mysticism as some skeptics might say, that the universe is a result of consciousness, and if you go further, I like to think that we are all a single consciousness, and we have a higher consciousness that is literally all of us. I'm sure you guys have heard about the idea of manifestiation. I don't relaly believe it. So if you think hard enough a shiny new car will appear?
I prefer to look at it this way though! I will use my company in the example since I think about it a LOT. So when we do work on the company, we are making small bits of progress. Those little bits of progress might seem not really worth it. Pay is mediocre, hours are long, and the stress from uncertainty is always around the corner.
On the other hand though, each action we take creates possiblities in the Universe. This forum for example. Complete loss of money so far..., but with so much traffic that goes through this website among other things-- there are possiblities for opportunities for my company in the universe that would have never existed had we not made the website.
So when we consider it like this, each little step we make isn't just a small step in a long and drawn out process, but rather, it's new possiblities. We just have to be positive, look hard for the opportunities, and keep going creating those possiblities-- because when we do this, I think we are, in a way, manifesting what we want.
Long Live Luna!
