How to keep a sociopath's interest?

by Justice

You're a fucking idiot. No wonder he gets bored of you, you're a walking cliche'.

Just give up. You will never be what he want's and he will never be what you need.

That's completely true.  It just feels good.  But I don't know how to let go and even if we stopped hooking up I'd want to stay friends.  We were friends before we hooked up and he is a person who I want in my life.

It gets harder the more attached I get to him, so I try to cope by detatching myself.  I'll try harder to fake it though, but if he sees that I'm faking it wouldn't he just try harder?

Like I said, time and practice, then you'll become what you aspire to be. It'll always be unpleasant, just not as bad as before. Granted he is a sociopath, you have a really good weapon at your disposal. When his efforts to discourage you increases, ask him a direct question relative to his behaviour. Don't think to show disbelief, but actually don't believe what he's about to say. He knows you well enough to sense your doubt to begin with. Direct questions. Ask a sociopath a direct question, and they will squirm. He'll kinda change the topic, listen to what he says (let him finish) message noted, then ask him the same question. If anything, asking him direct questions might even be what triggers him off, but on the other hand, you are a boarderline mind, it's likely you set him off in your own way.

He does hate answering questions lol.  He'll give a stupid answer, or change the subject, or just say "I'm not telling" even if it's something stupid like asking when he got his hair cut.

How do I analyze the answers though?  They're always random.

If I ask him why he does something mean though he always just says "because I want to."

Willing to bet there's a pattern you haven't noticed yet. Complete randomness is rare.

And you find those kinds of answers a sign of him being intelligent and charming? That smile must be really distracting.

Nothing to analyze really, cause it's bullshit. Remember, that guy is always playing poker. When he says cause he wants to, that is comparible to a white lie. When he says that, just label it as obvious. Focus on becoming callous to mental abuse. As you might have noticed, this site has all kinds of pests that might be useful to you, if you want to sharpen up on not giving a damn when others make an attempt at hurting you.

How do you keep using those regular emotes ? I don't think they are available here.
