No doubt.  Not only would those allowed to breed would have more than genetic credentials.  They should be fit for parenthood in many other ways.

Good parenting isn't always enough. Something could tip the balance, like tragedy striking their lives, or the death of one or both parents.

Even in Utopia there'd be complications.

Sometimes people seem to be "kid owners.". Like children are glorified pets.  Parents won't be around forever.  Hope we don't leave a shitty planet to a bunch shitheads we raised to be our successors.

Well, we have something for that too.  It is called execution.  Adult abortions.

Ever see the movie Idiocracy? It's arguably preachy, but the point it makes is clear:

Nope; haven't seen the movie.  I will note it and check it out.

my successors will be amongst those who will keep being smart and creating the "things" we need for our survival on this planet. There will be no nuclear apocalypse shit or anything like that. We'll create solutions to allow us to keep living on the planet and my offsprings will be part of that.

I'm a little afraid of having a kid. I already know all ways of programming his/her mind, since day 1, so the kid can be really efficient. Sounds very cold so I can only have a kid if I find a woman who's really smart, both in intelligence and emotionally. A good, warm empath.

And I assure you, we won't leave a couple of shitheads to fuck up the planet even more.

Then you better start spreading your seed rampantly, or Idiocracy will still be a risk. :P

it's not easy to find a pretty, high IQ empath who I'd spend my whole life with

the seeds are being spread, they're just not being germinated

Germinated, nice choice of words.

You should probably see the movie too. It shows the logical exageration of what could happen if smart people keep having few to no children while the less intelligent are prone to larger numbers.

It's what for a while had me questoning if Intelligence is an advantage or a crippling weakness. Darwinian standards could argue it's a flaw.
