You bring up many very enlightened Ideals. The concept of awareness of control. That we have the capacity to be the writers of our destinies. This is a very true thing that view people actually grasp and it has bounds of potential.
But whether people choose to follow this or play video games. It's ultimately irrelevant. Because all actions are little more than pacifications. Everything is a destraction whether your thing is chasing women or making money. It's all a distraction from boredum, a way to expend our energies. Your game is no different or more nobel than any other game.

Of course there is risk, and everything should be taken with, as they say, a grain of salt.
Otherwise ignorance will get one nowhere. Science has had it's logical fallacies throught history. Black hole theory has changed, meanwhile they are still trying to solve it, and those who adopted it get hurt when the herd must move on.
There is no scoring a perfect when seeking the truth, but along the way, or in my long journey, I'm seeing science fiction become facts. In this day and age, the greater knowledge is being passed along the internet and in scientific reports, all the while what they teach in school remains dated. Probably has to do with the teachers pride. Not too many want to accept how they have taught information based on faith, they for one will draw a tough debate unless someone popular and certified stands them down, so the schools carry on with the old stuff.

I do agree with you though. The likes of the space cracker can argue spirituality until they're blue in the face. But when it comes down to it, there is no scientific proof for this, even if science does accept this as a possibility. Years ago, life was nothing more than survival. Now, since we've mastered this pretty damn well (as a species) there's nothing left besides fighting boredom and inputting energy into this. Societal issues do still exist, and it's up to each individual to decide how important they are. Although they're worth nothing more than a blind fold, to keep you from the truth (that we're escapists due to boredom) and under control.
