Howard storm was a frequent guest on religious programming years ago like tbn I think?If people only knew the real story of his NDE such as the Christians who so greatly agreed with his supernatural experience they would be in complete shame of the fact that it was NOT a Christian one. He described aliens, utopian societies, and a list of all others that would negate a Christian connotation. The greatest prophets have been the earliest marketers.

Without oxigen, the brain after 7 minutes or so, becomes inactive. It's part of being pronounced clinically dead. I've read how it's sometimes possible to revive someone who has been gone for up to four hours provided they have been kept cold.
There is a news report about a child waking up at his funeral and asking for a glass of water before laying down to die again, and the longest NDE I've read about lasted 3 physical days. The guy who was dead for 3 days was an athiest, he said he was in the dark place, and was able to summon light, and was able to time travel. When he came back to life he was in the hospital for 9 months. Though he seen no angels or God in his experience of, how he put it, pure consciousness, he knew there was a God, so he lived out the rest of his days as a reverand.
The Howard Storm case, he was an arts professor, after his experience he quit his well paying job to become a reverand too.
Maybe it's possible the brain can resume with little to no damage after being inactive, but for it to solely render out a reality that is more real than this reality we see now while inactive, would be yet another mysterious feature of the brain.
I don't know how long the great Carl Jung was gone for, but what's interesting about his NDE is, he was able to describe what the Earth looked like from outter space, 2 decades before the first man went up there.
I believe that about DMT as well (plus it's released when you dream), but some people will be quick to tell you that the release at death has yet to be proven by medical science. It makes sense, but no one has observed it because it would take the sampling of a dying brain. Unless someone has since I last checked!
One interesting idea I've heard about DMT and the afterlife:
DMT severely alters your perception of time, people who smoke it trip for what feels like day but in reality the high lasts for less than 10 minutes. The DMT itself is also heavily influenced by your own subconscious and the circumstances. That being said, while dying your body practically OD's on DMT meaning you can spend what will seem to you an eternity in your own personal heaven or hell, wherever your subconscious thinks you should go. If it's the case, every religion is right :D
