A lot of what transpires happens because of what examples have been set. What would stop this place from transforming from a flood into a tsunami?

The only real defense Meta's throwing in your favor is over how he sees all SC posts as spam for some reason.

2 years ago people were being banned for "pedo talk" or "praising CP posters" and what not. This was also something that was agreed on and recognized as SC values.

Do you remember how I responded to that?

It's time to change and become consistent, give people more freedom. Every person here has at least 1 mental disorder, you shouldn't expect this place to be all neat and clean.

It's literally just flood control.

Until there is no tsunami, you dont evacuate...

I am the fascist here and I have to teach people liberty.

See if I were to apply fascist ideology, I'd say you are doing good, but you should even ban Cawk and all his supporters. Teach those plebs their place.

Why even have mods then?

After the tsunami comes, someone has to clean up.

Plus, a tsunami is usually seen from afar, mods should see it coming in advance.

And I think Cawk is not a tsunami.

I'm still going to handle this as per protocol, even if you can't see the why for it. If that's a problem for you and your website you're welcome to demod me over it.

do see said Tsunami coming, and it comes through examples being set. The floods need to be dammed or it inevitably becomes something bigger, and consistency is the wood for us busy beavers (Inq and I). For others to have their own senses of freedom here, there needs to be checks and balances in place, otherwise they'll just go right back to Discord solely from the trash heap this place would become.

So I guess the question here is: Is SC your forum, or is it everyone's?

Dont talk to me as if i am the admin. I am not talking from position of authority. I am not demoding anyone over spam issues.

If i was, I wouldnt give reasons or explanations.

I am just arguing my opinion. If i ever have to explain this again, i will be very angry.

Examples are set for trouble makers and they are not made out of random citizens. Thats what you do in a fascist state.

I don't understand how thats the question.

Are you going to explain? I waited for your usual edits lol.

Are you arguing that whoever spams makes SC theirs?

Hahaha! This is amazing. I am genuinely curious if TC (and Inq) back down after this crap.

Since I'm pretty sure the community at large agree we do need some kind of spam/flood control I'm going to continue handling it like I always have. Cawk is trying to paint himself a martyr, unjustly abused by mods who only target him because of personal reasons, but (just like Turq mentioned) he's not the only one that has had their posts/topics deleted or condensed. Both TC and I have acted according to established praxis.

My line is usually when someone pushes all or most of the front page to the second page in a relatively short period of time. If the actual content isn't repetitive and simple in nature I tend to be somewhat more lenient. The history of the spammer also matters.

I agree with this approach, but perhaps one key component in your judgment, or the general idea for the anti-spam rule, is that some people's personality invovles spamming. As long as its not very disruptive, I'd imagine it should be allowed on this particular site.

Unless you think Cawk fits the criteria for a person that would keep spamming even after his episode?
