The games I've enjoyed the most for the past year is practically Hearts of Iron IV and Stellaris.
I'd say Spyro year of the dragon, the Sims 2, and Fallout 4 are my all time favorite games. Also Dungeons and Dragons
When I hear Spyro I think of Skylanders, haha.
I dislike what spyro turned into. I'm referring to the 1998 Spyro
I'd say Spyro year of the dragon,
Why year of the dragon in particular..?
The first one just felt boring, I honestly never finished it. Ripto's rage was a close second choice but year of the dragon completely captivated 10 year old me's attention for weeks. I would sit on the living room floor and play and my youngersister would sit behind me and watch so it was also like bonding time
Fallout 4 are my all time favorite games
There's other games thematically similar to it that you might want to explore.
I've been meaning to play skyrim but not much time these days and also I dont have a game console
Also Dungeons and Dragons
Ooooh really?
What class and what alignment are the ones that feel more "natural"?
My last character was chaotic neutral and my current is true neutral. I dont feel that any particular class is natural to me yet but I think my next character will be a tank since that's the direction I enjoyed taking my fallout character. I experience less room for error with brute force and melee than a character aiming a bow from a distance.
But it's the one with the best level designs and music, plus the dialogue wasn't as lame as the weirder shit that came later.

Hunter drives me up the wall.

I play through the first three games sometimes when I need to unwind.

It's on PC, and it's better there.

I never really got the tank thing, as even when I tried them I tended to err in other directions. I tended to go for either stealth or magic, usually with control themes. I otherwise really enjoy social checks now. I really enjoy Necromancy and Enchantment as schools of magic.
I tend to play the game with the goal in mind of making the DM improvise by changing elements of their pre-planned story. Otherwise... I'm usually stuck DMing. I mostly play with an old group from my high school/college days over Discord now.
starcraft and starcraft 2 were probably my favorite games of all time. over the years i played quite a few. some more memorable like morrowind, which could not have been done better for the time. there were actually a lot of games around then that took a creative license i don't see happening today. knights of the old republic, eternal darkness, jet set radio future, animal crossing. all such good experiences with no analogues today. i know that i'm forgetting even more.
in more recent times, i've always loved blizzard games. overwatch was pretty fun. hearthstone too, but it's pay to win so i quit playing. if i had a good enough computer, i'd probably on star citizen right now. that looks fun.
They're shitty wastes of time and get worse every year. The market is only catering to massive multiplayer shooters, the rest of the genres are starving out of existence. The vicious cash grab of near identical sequels, microtransactions and sections of the game being blocked off as "dlc" are atrocious to say the least.

Buy indie shit then, like Untitled Goose Game, or go for the stuff like Super Meat Boy or I Wanna Be the Guy if you want it to be hard, or maybe like Ninja Gaiden for something more 3D.
You also can go back to the days of when games were still "Nintendo Hard". Even the original Megamans were somewhat unforgiving at points.
We have a gigantic library of games and the majority of them are not commercial blockbusters anymore.

I don't like indie games or going back to play older games

Why? It's not like they all have shitty tank controls. Once dual analogues became the norm a lot of problems went away. Beyond that most of what's left to compare is just the graphics.
What makes an old game bad beyond weird controls being a risk? I mean compare it to your description of where games are going and I see no reason to resist backtracking a bit to old classics you may have never even played.

Indie games are mainly metroidvanias and generally dont have the budget to give me the experience im looking for. Older games I just don't because it's flaws stick out glaringly from how far in the past it was. The few I would replay I've replayed to death
