For me it was always my intelligence and competence in certain areas like making money. I look down on people that are ignorant and don't know how to make large amounts of money, or have risk-averse and lazy traits that make them not do whatever it takes to succeed.
being white
how does that work
Unless I'm actually concerned about it, if I can sit there while they do all the work in hurting themselves, it's Thorn Armor.
If they can't help themselves, it makes me feel like I can.
Not needing to be above people or worrying about it. It's a basic bitch trait and a hard thing to reduce down to a subconscious level
Very good
I think that detachment of petty stuff like being "above" others is something that can be remedied by making peace with your ego, so that it doesn't control you

It's still you doing it by telling yourself that you're better than those who do.
It's a corkscrewed version of the exact same behaviors, just with narcy denial as it's spice.
Basically, if you really didn't care, the "basic bitch traits" wouldn't phase you at all or cause you to rank yourselves above them. It'd be closer to "They can't help themselves, and I am in no position to judge them for it".

Yes that is a very good observation. However if you do end up feeling better than others, that just means you never cared about improving in the first place. Instead of letting go of your ego you fed into it and never made any progress whatsoever. It's a hurdle that I've thought a lot about. Some people are stuck in this phase and act holier-than-thou and 'above' the petty quabbles of the "unenlightened". It is ironic but that doesn't discredit the practice itself. It just shows that losing your ego is harder than it seems.
Don't let yourself be discouraged from trying this if you find yourself stuck in this loop.
