It's... what we've been talking about.
I'll break it down "Barnie Style" as you put it:
1) Person A posts their face on here.
2) Person B posts Person A's face, but from another source.
This is a likeness question, as it's about how much they've shown of themselves and how much it resembles them in ways that reveal as much versus more than they've shown of themselves.
Do we:
1) Take it down because it came from a different source?
2) Keep it up as it doesn't reveal more than they've shown of themselves?
We've largely handled it as #2 for a while now. If Person A posts their face and Person B uses that to find their address and post it on the forum, it's escalation based on details they didn't themselves post here and it makes sense to take it down, but if Person B just posts a photo of them that's less flattering than Person A's upload is it really grounds for a take down beyond "Vanity"?

The title of this thread is false.
My understanding of the dox rule was:
If it is your dox, you may request a mod to take the dox down. The dox was open to be anything covering pictures, addresses, phone numbers, social media of that particular person.
However if it was a dox of that persons family member or friend, then that family member or friend must register and ask for it to be taken down but that's easy to fake as well looking back at what happened with Pink01; she asked for her dad's dox to be taken down and when called, her dad had no issues with it being up.
So are we changing the dox rules? Why are we changing them now- what was the catalyst for this?
That was never the way it worked.
Family, friends, school and work are one's personal business, that is anything that can lead to a liability for the person and the forum are removable on request. The reasons for this vary including online defamation being enough to get the site shut down.

From what I gather, TC and Alena are conspiring to raise the bar in their campaign to bully Med over how ridiculous she is, but there's no cause for changing any rules. TC obviously wants push his boundaries as one of his favorite things to do around here is doxxing.
With Med's cases in particular, the mod's have found her complaints somewhat polarizing, as she herself partook in some of the things she complained about, and even being the first to do it at one point.
Long story short, the mods aren't considering making any changes to the rules. Personally I think along the same lines as Cain mentioned in this thread.
