Alright since I'm clearly the only mature person here I'll put an end to it:

If you post your picture on this forum and public chat(not dms) and someone reposts that same picture it stays up. It is not a dox.

If your pictures are posted and you have not posted said pics on forum or public chat- they are considered a dox. A dox is hereby considered any form of information not previously volunteered by the victim. This includes pictures and videos, address, social medias, phone numbers and workplace/location.

The dox will be taken down by any mod upon request of victim. The dox itself will be edited out of post along with any quoted portion from any other members but the thread itself will remain up. 

Each dox removal will be on a request basis. You cannot state simply "I want all pictures of me removed if they are posted up". It is not the mods job to babysit you. Do not post anything that you don't want others using against you.

Does that sound fair?

I have something to add to that, how about once a year we have a day where there are no doxing rules for 24 hours straight so that we can dox with impunity and let off some steam

What about family? That can literally share your last name and lead to all sorts of information through far more back-searching than "friends". You before were going on about how said family member would have to sign up to fix it, but at the very least Spatial, myself, and Inq by participation credit have been taking down family records on the same notion. 

Also for pictures and videos, are you going with if it reveal more information about them than was previously known, or if it's literally a different image?

We'll add in family to this dox definition. Sure, fine. If it is something the member/victim shared has not shared themselves and is snagged off of social media by others it is considered dox. 

Basically anything that is not an exact replica of what the member freely shared is considered dox.

It'd still surface again later, I mean ffs they forgot all the time spent on rule lawyering this stuff out, so in all honesty setting a precedent here could just as easily be ignored later if they feel like it.

So a photo of the same person in literally the same scene from a different angle would count as "more"? 

If lets say... someone posts photos of me I didn't post myself, it'd be able to be taken down no questions asked even though I've now posted my own face multiple times?

They'll just be like "Rules are meant to be changed and the community wants a hugbox now". 

Permanence is only as strong as it's consistency, but as people like Ed and TPG leave we get to see the "people need to be protected from themselves" people gain more of a voice while many of our protesters will be either apathetic or easily written off.
