 Obviously, we'd have to use money that we already have to get the micronation going, and do much trading with existing nations until we have enough going for us to not need to as much.

Prior wealth would mean a whole lot even past the point where we don't need to trade necessities from others. An SC micro nation won't be able to produce its own computers, for example. They have to be imported.

Nation? We'd be just a gang of people... a situation way easier to imagine. There used to be a cool thread on the old SC, about all the SC members getting stuck on an island, and who would do what and ally with whom to survive.

But yeah, if we got isolated somewhere, survival skills and physical attributes would be what mattered the most. I'd definitely try form a group with the most competent in this area, and who I could also trust.
