He's doing it as referential parody as a man of color though, and he's doing this off of the back of his former Comedy Central show's history. He tries the "I make fun of everyone" angle and at least was able to coast on it back then.

Main complaint I see people saying is that it's dated, and I kind of agree
I see people calling it offensive as well though. The leftist critics gave it a low rotten tomatoes rating but the audience rating is 99%
And even if it is dated, I don't care. Comedy does not need "progress" to stay funny. Sometimes things are best kept the same. Change is not always good.
