It just says Pokemon is the biggest franchise in the world.
What did that though?
Portability + Variety, none of the others who tried the same shit tried the same combination. One of them won, because it was the right choice.
When I look into that I find..
"The Pokémon Company recently concluded its strongest fiscal year in history, generating $3.33 billion in a single year, driven heavily by physical trading card production crossing 85 billion cards globally and sustained digital engagement via mobile platforms like Pokémon GO."
The cards and the mobile app trumps whatever else they sell. They been at it for nearly 30 years I'm guessing. 2nd largest media franchise is Hello Kitty, which is significantly older, 3rd being Winnie the Pooh. ( Don't ask me how or why Winnie the Pooh is so damn big. )
If I open Pokemon Go, it'll be something lame. Barely any playtime. I was out one night playing it in the park. It had me walking around the surrounding neighborhood to catch that little black creature with the sinister looking face.
Pokemon Go objectively sucks beyond user interaction. The only people who stick around are autistic.
That being said they are the cash whales they hoped for that would spend IRL money to buy Pokeballs.
A well built PokemonGo account can fetch it's user thousands of dollars if they sell it.
Seems like the best thing to do when bored of the game is to sell the account.
Selling an account pisses off Niantic and it can result in a permanent ban. To avoid detection, it's best to link the account to it's own email, and keep records of where you'd usually play the game, or where you played most. The buyer will need this information plus your address where you played the game to avoid a potential ban.
I'm not all that into it, but regardless of taste, obtaining high status with PokemonGo is quite the colossal undertaking. Plus it's physically healthy to play that game.
Other than that my most played Pokemon game is Pokemon Stadium on the N64. The game was kinda limited. There was some adaptor to attack the Gameboy cartridge of some Pokemon game in order to beef up the ones in Stadium, but we still played with whatever's there.
Dude okay, no, like...
The N64 titles were meant to add drama to gameboy fights, not meant to be their own independent platform. It's why the prizes they promised were towards the cartridges connected to your controller.
It was a graphics expansion for what they already had.
Okay dude, but like, yes.
"Pokémon Stadium was significantly limited and made much more difficult without the Transfer Pak.
While the game remained fully playable from start to finish, lacking the accessory locked away core features and altered the intended gameplay loop.
Without a Transfer Pak and a compatible Game Boy cartridge (like Pokémon Red, Blue, or Yellow), several major areas and functionalities became entirely unavailable."
I remember in Pokemon Stadium, all the Pokemon a casual player can use were rentals. My Brother on the other hand had Pokemon Yellow for Gameboy ( Has them all I think ) and he was able to play Stadium with "his" Pokemon. Not the rentals I'd be stuck with, but his own.
His Pokemon, weren't like the Rentals in game. His were stronger while the rental Pokemon had their fixed limits and couldn't be leveled up. In a nutshell his Pikachu would mash mine, or whatever else he'd decide to use. It wasn't fun for him to play against me, cause he'd have to rent Pokemon instead of taking pride in his own.
Despite my horrible experience on the N64 punishing me for not playing other Pokemon games, I think Stadium was kinda nice when playing other casual players, and it really is my most played Pokemon game of the 2 I ever tried. That and I have some hours in PGo
Was watching the Logan show last night and he revealed a crazy ass stunt he did with a very expensive Charizard. That's another flex in Pokeworld. This is the only thing about Pokemon that interests me. The value people put into it.
...Pokemon Cards is the weirdest racket ever.
At least Magic The Gathering makes sense there, Pokemon's card game is... weird. This means Logan has the world's most expensive Charizard.
He made it an NFT, that's the value not the card value.
People want HIS Charizard.
His Charizard is 1 of 3 known to exist in that level of condition, but his Charizard in particular has celebrity status in that world and this one. In a 100 years from now that exact card will have quite a history, what Logan did to it, with it. Iced it out and took it to sold out boxing events where he himself would be fighting boxing legend Floyd Mayweather. It's been on adventures and will be seen on those adventures until the end of our species. While being 1 of 3, collectors most likely call it the Logan Charizard, and if not they'll know what you're saying when someone refers to it as such.
The guy he bought it from, tried to get it BGS graded and failed 8 months before selling it to Logan.
Logan was smart to remove it from the PSA seal, as BGS prides themselves in being harder to achieve a 10. Probably from the time BGS sees a PSA seal they're going to slap it down with a bias and score it lower as a way to secure their own reputation for being hard ass.
BGS obviously had no idea they examined Logan's Charizard before, and now this time it got the BGS 10 score.
Technically that card is cross graded, and he has the video to prove it. How it even got that score is on display. Even when he fought Floyd, it's like "look again, it's not the Detective Pikachu around his neck," it's the damn BGS 10 Charizard he never told anyone about until now.
Yes, his Charizard of them all is the star. The one that's been in the field of view of millions of people while the card now has 2 grand adventures in the spotlight and it's sale will be considered another one. I'm very impressed with how Logan 10 x'd an expensive piece of cardboard and it will probably sell for more than 1 million at an auction.
Damn. Logan's the one able to even set it's base auction value cause it's not going anywhere without his asking price. Even the next owner will reference it to Logan as another way to secure it's authentication while this Charizard outshines the other 2.
When this Charizard is sold next, the value of the other 2 will explode just the same, but his will still fetch a higher bid.
