The point is there are some people who look like leftists but they've come to realize how they can no longer align themselves with the loud people on the left.

 Since the great divide, I never seen anyone swing over to the left. It's always left to right. 

It might also be that the definitions and boundaries of either "side" are moving, while people are really just finding out who they are as it moves around them.

When I see people motivated by hatred, they are usually left wing. Most of the left seem to be atheist, and they demand their way even if it disturbs someone's religious practices.

It's typical of the left to roll out the red carpet for a person of colour.

For people on the left who aren't like the modern leftist, I wonder what keeps them there. Maybe they're afraid their lives will fall apart and they'll lose people, and often times when people swing to the right, things will get complicated between them and loved ones, that being the loved ones feeling upset about their associate realigned perspective. The modern left winger believes the right is wrong, usually because the TV stars said so.

When Trump is gone, American politics might get really boring and disappointing.

People today are more divided than ever.

Leftist is kind of a slur that has replaced the word commie. There are some folks out there ripping countries in half and engineering your thoughts so that you people bicker amongst yourselves.
