In most Bible Wars, they'll cite The Bible, in which case their means of winning will have them take your words less seriously. When it goes against your gospel you'd argue they're using outdated information, meaning the debate would lack rigor and structure.
When debating the words in a book, it's typically good to adhere to the words in that book if you want the topics to go anywhere. If I debate someone in Harry Potter I can't start bringing up Fanfic to win the argument.
It reminds me that much more of my past debates with She... She'd quote all sorts of shit, but use it to justify unholy things just like you do. When in a corner she'd also appeal to things outside of the texts, but those talks never went anywhere over lacking tangible source material.
Seriously though, how anyone can look at The Bible and not see it as blatantly biased against Satan, who is actually the true hero of the story, isn't reading into it correctly.
The book tries to make people disconnect from their humanity as it's overarching goal, while Satan is humanity personified through a fallen angel as it's Biggest Fan. Every argument Satan gives is a human one, meant to show him as a secondary figure to demonize him through loss, so people prone to hero worship that like 'winners' would look up to God far enough to deny their own urges and values... yet to me I see God as a mad tyrant with Satan as our only line of defense.
Between the two of them, only one of them embraces the human condition for it's truths far enough to connect us to the animals from whence we came, the truths of sin rather than the naive lies of purity. To follow God successfully is to shed your humanity, to become a husk of it, rather than embrace it for what it is. Only one of them actually understands what we're going through, and believe you me it's not The God Machine.

If The Bible were rewritten through a modern lens, we'd see Satan as more of a Tragic Hero than an Angry Villain, similarly to how we see media changing to have bad guys look less heinous and more relateable (ex: Doctor Horrible, Megamind, etc). The modern reader is that much more capable of empathy compared to those of days long past, allowing for a different take on the reading.
