Yeah, 988 isn’t perfect, but I’ve seen it help people who really needed it, especially when they had nowhere else to go. I think sometimes it’s easy to criticize something like that when you’re not in the middle of a crisis yourself? I’d be interested in hearing what issues you’ve had with it though

maybe there’s something I’m missing.

As for that person selling those suicide drugs, I’m actually kinda curious. Like, what even pushes someone to do something like that? Seems like there’s gotta be a bigger story there. I wonder if they’re just in it for the money, or if it’s something else. Anyone have more details on who’s behind it? It’s just wild.

The simple fact is; if you're a guy nobody fucking cares if you're suicidal.

lol I was going to quote this and correct that this only applies if you're a guy but I see you already did it.

If you're a pretty girl, shit ton of people will care if you're suicidal. I mean most of them want to fuck you and are total simps but they have an innate need to care and save you like the damsel in distress you are. And then when they realise can't fuck you they hope blame you for being such a shitty person and think you probably did something horrible and deserve to die because of that. Until they think they can fuck you again.

Human nature is so beautiful and simple.

Last pandemic, a few stimulus checks, a little 3k here and there for "some" citizens, caused today's inflation cause they had to print trillions.

So... you think the economy would have been better off if people who weren't working during a pandemic went further into credit card debt?

Because that's what would have happened.

That still happened.

You're not saying the Stimulus actually resolved their situations did you ?

So what would happens if every US citizen of age got a free $12,000 a year ?

Dude.

There will eventually be a breaking point where more people don't have jobs than do, and with it the entire system will have to be reformed. I suspect this will happen in relation to the self-driving car, but won't be the final straw until AI pushes harder against existing work for writers and artists and the like.

Around such a time, $1000 a month won't even seem like much. Speaking as someone on SSI I make like 70% of that, the guy's issue was that he proposed it too early.

That doesn't mean UBI will improve the world when things go deeper into to shit.

UBI will turn the US into an absolute cesspool worse than California. There are countries where they buy toilet paper with stacks and stack of cash worth less than monopoly money.

$1,000 a month for 300,000,000+ people every month year after year. It's degenerate, and it's scarry how there are oeople in politics who think it's a good idea.

Not by the same amount that it could have, which with compounding interests becomes a much bigger problem overtime when people can't continue working.

So what's your solution for income once anywhere from 75% to 99% of jobs have been rendered obsolete?
