Bottom Line: She's been spamming someone she wants to poison, then she stabs her husband thinking it's his father within a short window of time. After a history of self-harming behaviors as well it's clear that it's spreading towards those around her, qualifying as both "A Danger To Herself and Others". 

He clearly wishes to bury it, like he's done with every other time she's acted out, but he clearly does not see what risk that's putting both them and other people there is in doing so. You two should seriously consider getting her checked inpatient somewhere, before it's done involuntarily and therefor a worse outcome overall. You two can't fix this yourselves, it will get worse, GET HELP.

Option #1 -- Dismiss the entire thing.  BR says he's fine, nothing actually happened.  You could say it is trolling for attention, a fantasy out of hand, crying wolf, whatever.

Option #2 -- Treat it seriously and responsibly.  There is a very real threat; even if nothing may have happened now, these are signs of future possible events or some other form of behavior leading to harm.

With Option #1, you run the risk of reading the signs wrong and events leading to harm actually occurring, when you had a chance to respond and do some due diligence to try and prevent such harm.  With Option #2, even if it turns out it was a farce or empty drama to seek attention, you may deter further escalation or behavior in light of them dealing with the real consequences of such foolishness.
