All of that work goes into profit margins and dumb realistic graphics, not making the best game they can make. Pirating doesn't even make an impact and it's usually poor people that pirate.

Also, I just uninstalled Steam and the thirty dollar turd City Skylines 2 I paid for from a key site.

It actually does hurt their bottom line. Sure it profits people more who produced rather than designed, but it's those producers who will keep hiring those designers.

As someone who appreciates their work and follows how it affects the user-to-business interaction, I've seen game companies discontinue series of games over it. If it's not a well known title like Sonic or Mario where the mascot is too big to die, it can affect the likelihood of it being made into future titles.

The companies are about profit, if the profits aren't there they move on. Further, they've begun putting in countermeasures to oppose piracy that often make the game less functional to run, so it is actually hurting the things I enjoy to have it happen. If piracy continues we might start seeing in-game advertisements to help them reach their bottom line, and that sounds horrible to me.

There is Good Old Games that have games with no drm. You can store these games however you want.

You mean it affects the moves that it unlocks?

Yeah, I saw some differences when I did a staff run and bothered to look it up. It affects the order, but more importantly it affects how many of it's strength you end up with.

Extra attack is kind of meaningless.

It's fun, and as a multiplier of your existing strength it adds up.

You don't get the extra item slots unless you pick shield so sacrificing it doesn't matter.

I think sacrificing it has you with one less overall, plus lower defense which sucks if you're bad at dodging.

MP Rage is more useful than a lot of stuff.

Don't you have to allow yourself to get hit for it to mean anything? If you aren't getting hit it's just taking up space.

Staff gives both more mana and more magic power because magic power is based on how much mana you have.

Yeah but what are you really using your magic on?

The keyblades with magic focus tend to cover that need well enough on their own if it's for whatever reason necisary.

I kinda phased out of this discussion but I'll go back to it. I think I mentioned that strength does softcap before 65 while Sephiroth is softcapped at 65 for player strength. There are a lot of ways to increase your strength especially if you have exp on. Sacrificing doesn't do anything to stats such a mp amount and item slots which rely on what you pick. If you pick staff you get the least amount of item slots while sword neither has the most amount of mp or item slots making it lose out in the long run. I meant more than just MP Rage as there is one that increases mp with every hit you give out. Like I said it's useful because when you do use magic it makes it more powerful to have a higher MP pool and might make summons stronger along with special moves that also take up magic and might be influenced by it in the same way. It's basically a win win for completionists to choose staff or for rushers to pick shield as they both end up with high attack and they both are still influenced by the other stats they are given.
