My mother is 75 I know there are life expectancy tables I don't even want to know. She is not in good health. Hell her sister is 85 and is in better health than her.  These are basically kept women.

How will I manage if I can only speak to her through the lawyers. My mother has been like my friend but she did me dirty.

Go after your Aunt. Your Mother doesn't have your inheritance does she ?

Whatever is more important for you. There are other sides of this story as well. No one here thinks you should have control over a fortune, you'd do dumb shit like get Chapo a Hell Cat with the fancy rims and support his drug habit.

I believe your family doesn't think you're fit to handle the fortune either. Med money can evaporate pretty quickly

Codicil? My mom doesn't even read the damn thing. I heard her talk to her lawyer. The lawyer talks down to her and she takes it! It's also my aunt's lawyer too. I have to get a hold of it and read it but I don't know how.

So her Lawyer has the Codicil ?

If her Lawyer is corrupt, you may never see the thing. How is it the Lawyer talks down to a client ? There's corruption going on there. The Lawyer got paid but since he's like that toward your Mother, it's obvious they can all get in trouble together

I know I'm scared. Money can evaporate quickly. Im basically an orphan.

And lawyers are slimy my dad was a lawyer and he said so. Will run their meters, allusion to cabbies.

I'm not great with money.

However my mother is just stupid with money. My dad took care of her all those years. She earned money but he took care of her. And so the house was in a transfer on death deed for me which meant in Virginia it passed outside of probate without taxes immediately was paid off but she didn't understand it and claimed I would take house from her. So she sold it. Stupid with money: a poor business decision. It's now being "invested"

I know I shouldn't tell all but I'm really stuck I have few to talk to. That's really my naievety few to talk to but other than that I'm smart.

Of course if they do get in trouble it would be because you decided to persue compensation through the court sysyem. The corrupt lawyer would rather settle, than have his firm lose their license.

No I mean the lawyer was copy of the will and my mother has never sat down and read it to my knowledge

I wanted to go after the lawyer but to report her would take hiring a lawyer she isn't the one to go after I don't know

When a large inheritance is up for grabs, very often does it destroy families. My parents were divorced, and my Mother felt entitled to my Father's house and there was a falling out that lasted years. My older Brother stole assets that were never recovered.

You'll have to be pretty cold, but I don't know if you have the capacity to do that since you have conflicting issues.

Why do you want to do this now ?

Because I don't know how much longer she has to live.

And it is going to suck when she dies.

I can be cold but the conflicting issue is my mom is like my stand-in friend I don't know how else to say it, I go there on weekends now but we were never really close as I was with my dad.

I found my dad's signed will, the one in which I was named Executor. The lawyer finally coughed it up in 2020 and I have it electronically. But my dad died in 2018 so it was too late.

Okay here's the thing. My first cousin and her husband already "signed something with the bank" about a year ago they administer money to me weekly. They have access to one account of my mothers. One time recently they made a sports bet to each other and accidentally transferred about $200 to their account but my mother caught it. It will be really hard to "seam rip" this I think.
