If ETs came here, it is a simple solution.

Star Trek is super old. You guys like it from nostalgia. As a product of it's time, is it actually good for more contemporary viewers?

the Original Series are a little weird

But the rest is superior to most shows. Except for the first season of the new generation, it is still great, but you can notice its old. The other seasons are fire tho.

But DS9, Voyager, and Enterprise are all great.

I am now watching Orville and it is damn good too, can stand up to star trek even imo. It has all the ingredients and it is a comedy.

Cheery bye!

Picard's first season's the weirdest by far, but the Kirk Trek is very cheesy and campy to the point of charming.

I highly recommend it (original* Picard S1) if intoxication is there to sidecar the journey, especially episode four of the first season.

You probably aren't a fan of Ray Bradbury's contributions then.

I've yet to watch Picard, I heard it's very woke, plus it it mskes me unhappy to see Patrick Stewart so old. Guy is in his 90's and still working.

Do not start with Picard. Start with Star Trek The Next Generation. The first season is isn't that great.

My recommendation for anyone giving the shows a chance

- Star Trek TNG - This is the favorite and unlike the following 2 it was remastered. It has a couple movies one should be watched anytime after seeing the first epidode of the next serise Deep Space 9

- Star Trek Deep Space 9 - this comes after TNG. Grimy space station sort of a hub where good and bad beings meet.

- Star Trek Voyager - Also referrnces TNG.

- Star Trek Enterprise  ( Technically you can watch this one first cause it goes back to Earth's very first star ship and crew. Lower tech and still awesome. It's more theatrical looking/movie like. ) Only 4 seasons. Pity.

- Star Trek Discovery - Modern Star Trek, still being put out. I have more of these to watch. It's okay to start here but it's not as engaging as the others. This show is more generic and movie like, while every series before it, the characters are more interesting and memorable.

- Star Trek Strange New Worlds - Never touched this yet

- Star Trek Picard - An encore presentation of TNG. Except the fans aren't impressed from what I gather.

the problem I have with Star Trek Discovery and Star Trek Picard, is that the Capitan figure is missing.

In discovery, the authority figures are weak, including the main hero, who is not even the capitan.

In Picard, he is acting super submissive to the problems he has to deal with, like he has lost all self respect. It feels like he cant command anything anymore, because he can't make the hard choices.

I forgot about Star Trek Strange New Worlds, that one is actually not bad. I have not seen enough to be certain, but it seems good. It is a little goofier, but at least there is a capitan figure.

Captain Pike

He's in the 2nd season of Discovery too I think, or did he come in on the first season. But yeah Captain Pike is the replacement captain in Discovery.

The visuals in Discovery is cool, but we really don't get to know the crew. The viewer couldn't care if most of the crew died. Just a few Characters. The New Spock is cool. Those shows are filmed here.

Picard.... I don't think I'll watch it. Just looking at it makes me sad. I know what happens to Data. and I see it has Q. It looks like trash.

EDIT: Pike standing to the right hand side. If you never seen him yet, then you haven't watched much of discovery. I'm in no rush to fishing this one. But yeah that guy is in both shows

I'd forgotten about that one entirely... I'm going to have to stop referring to each show by their captain.

It's horrible, but it goes surprisingly deep into "so bad it's good" with some redeeming moments. When I got through it to the second season I remember there being some whiplash over the quality jump.

Ray Bradbury died during the making of DS9, and at that point you could always tell what parts were and weren't his over how wicked awkward it felt to watch.

Horrible fashion sense though.

I'm more fond of where the DS9 writers took The Ferengi, prior they were mostly just a joke in the writing with TNG making them appear as if a racist caricature:

Following their first appearance they were even often seen talking down to them:

In his childhood Worf was adopted by humans and grew up on Earth.

When he was young he accidentally killed a human boy in a freak sporting accident. Maybe it was soccer, can't remember.

Here's another one, this time a man spikes the ball and the girl pulled a Scott Sterling.

Video Description said:

The injury occurred last month when a Highlands High

volleyball player(a biological male) made a spike and

smashed a Hiwassee Dam High player in the forehead,

causing severe head injuries "The Hiwassee Dam player, a

biological girl, J suffered severe head and neck injuries,

resulting in long-term concussion symptoms, including vision

problems. The girl has still not yet been cleared to play again

by her primary care physician or a neurologist, reported

Education First Alliance. The Cherokee County Board of

Education then voted 5-1 to declare a "safety issue" and

canceled all games against Highlands High after coach and

Cherokee Board Member Joe Wood said he had fi never seen a hit like this before.

So ladies. If society pits you agsinst a man, you should quit !
