Do people in the west have children with a plan mostly? Do you think children are a luxury that only western people should enjoy?

What do you think about taking the starving children from Africa and giving them to western and asian families and then sending them back after they grow up and graduate from MIT/Harvard/etc? Do you think it would fix the problem?

Another possibility would be to take the adults and sending them to top universities. Do you think it would make a difference? What do you think will ultimately fix the hunger problems in East Africa?

It is the result of human error. Not easy to look at, and shouldn't really be ignored.

Do you blame human nature or poverty or both?

Blah. Making me research Sierra Leone.

ok ok I'll be back tomorrow with that.

For now all I can rlly tell you is that some freed slaves got their chance to return home, and that's where they went.

There was a big exodus late in the 19thc (?) but many African Americans returned during the 20thc.

But don't quote me on any of that.

Like I said, I have to look it up. It's been more than a decade since I thought about Sierra Leone.

I think by the time slavery was abolished in the US, it was the offspring that were being freed.

On that note, black people had slaves too, and it still goes on in the world today.

Oh I see.

You're gaslighting Med.

I won't waste my time posting vids about Africa, then.

No, I'm talking specifically about a war torn hell on earth that was supposed to be a happy place where the slaves went home.

It was on Oprah and everything.

But for some reason the place (Sierra Leone) broke out in a hideous war just after the turn of the millenium.

War always causes starvation for a large percentage of the population.

But w/e.

Nobody cares.

Legga is just tryinta mess with Med.

I think, the starving children who receive funding or aid should be taken away from their family and raised in a military like facility. These children should be repurposed for terraforming the land. Construct wells and other proven inventions to make fresh water abundant for the land, making it fertile again. Like they did in Libya.

A machine that pulls moisture and makes fresh water that can accomodate 100 people daily

Another one

Keep bringing the water. They can have personal gardens aside from large ones. Make the land fertile again and grow food.

Also they need laws to prevent births that bring them down as a nation, they can't afford the population they have until they transform their environment.

I see.

These places usually have some militant tyrant at the helm. Though I don't know all of their history.

Yeah I know. Med doesn't know how to be civil so I see why Legga is being an ass to her. Classic SC style. Personally I don't think she's earned respect.

Aside from that, I think this subject is worthwhile and shouldn't be ignored because Med is being a Karen, again.

Oh you're serious?

kk.

You have some serious misconceptions about Africa, but less so than what you believe about females.

If you believe this subject is worthwhile, then pick a country. Use my list, or blindfold yourself and throw darts at a map until smthg sticks.

However you want to do it, Idc.

But choose one or 2 African countries and give me 2 days to do some research.

You do everything you can to study up on the country (countries) as well.

Then hopefully we can have an enlightened discussion about it.

What the hell ?

Hey I'm just contributing ideas. If you want to study up and write an essay feel free to do that, I'm probably going to spend more time doing something else though.

I also think I contributed to this thread the best so far, not that I'm competing with anyone.

lol k.

As an anthro major, I just find it a bit embarrassing to try to discuss smthg I studied 15 and more years ago and find I've forgotten at least a third of it bc the subject hasn't come up since I left school. Or to find out that everything I learned about a people is now obsolete bc 15 years and a war and a rebuilding and several regime changes have happened since I last looked at said people.

So we're back to not giving enough fucks to do research.

Fair enough.

I'll do my research when I have time and for my own curiosity's sake, then.
