I am talking about yourself in particular,  that this issue seems the be an exaggerated problem  In fact there are even threads that you have made about how you take everything literally and you blamed it on the fact that you have autism  this is a "you" problem,  not the entire autistic community as a whole problem and this is why I told you to study how to understand the metaphorical better  your fish to dessert analogy was a nice effort and I applaud you for trying,  keep up the good work

It is pretty common for people on the spectrum to not understand sarcasm and otherwise treat messages literally.

This can lead to them having some struggles with metaphor, but otherwise showcasing advantages in areas like science and engineering.

yeah but I just wanted to clarify that I do not automatically assume that every single autistic person on the spectrum can absolutely not understand anything figurative,  because I do not think that and I also think that it could be something studied and learned to understand even if it does not come "naturally" to a person  I mean ultimately knowledge empowers and enables and there are humans who act more like animals than human beings like almost feral in a way when they do not receive enough education  (not accusing delora of this,  I just am making a point that all of us understand what we understand now from what we have been taught in the past,  and not everyone who is gifted at something became that way as a prodigy,  often people have to study and practice to master anything)

no, people with autism think of metaphors differently in the sense that we picture the metaphors as literal but many of us fully understand that they are metaphors. it takes us a longer time as children to learn metaphors but in my experience most autistic adults have learned what metaphors are and how they work.

because your understanding of the holy bible divine mother, is so perfect that peasant trash like me cannot even begin to comprehend just how proper that understanding really is.

^  umm well your autism does seem to inhibit you from understanding anything other than literal,  soooooooooooo yeah I would agree with you on that I think that even Alice would agree with you on that,  especially after we have just discussed how much the figurative, metaphorical, symbolic and parabolic are essential parts of the holy scriptures............

I do not think that you are a lost cause or anything,  but you might want to study how to be able to understand metaphorical concepts more comprehensibly

your understanding of autism is as a fish to the desert.

Like the Desert Pupfish

small? yes. :D

HER UNDERSTANDING IS LIKE A HUMANS ABILITY TO SURVIVE A BUNCH OF FIRE AND BEING ON FIRE WITH NO LONG TERM SIDE EFFECTS FROM BEING ON FIRE WITH NO FORM OF PROTECTION
